Absolutely! But I often found the Saito and Shiori movies more satisfying as they focus on their "body qualities" more han Aimi's movies.
I don't dispute that... hmmm... put it this way, I wanted to avoid saying it, but you pushed and I slightly push back. Those covers you chose are not very flattering for Saito and Tsukasa. I know there's a market for that style, what you call "body qualities" I think it's close to "big booty" in US porn.

Anyway it's a known genre in AV too, body obsession or fetish, but I think it's a niche sub-genre. I don't think Aimi has a thing against it. But why any idol don't do any particular genre, (except the obvious hardcore ones like bukkake, anal etc) I can't say, of course.

You are maybe right, but damn, I don't think she is engaged in shooting HUNTA and AP more than 5 days a month, why she do not shoot BOTH?? They would mean more money, after all. And more solo releases also mean more exposure, which generally leads to more work requests and more money.
Well... I just had a glance at 2017 vids of both Saito and Tsukasa, I mean I do have a couple vids of each girl but mostly I don't follow them. And it seems... Shiori Tsukasa isn't really more successful than Aimi, dispite having more solo vids. But Miyu Saito... I'm with you. She does many different studios/labels/series, and mixing solo vids with duos (TKI-057) and planning vids. It would be so awesome if Aimi's career is similar.

Anyway... there is probably good reason most idols (not talking about Aimi specifically) don't shot AV 15 days a month. I think the market can't support that much sex scenes from one girl per month. Every so often you see an idol goes kind of nuts, e.g. Meguri earlier this year release a planning or solo vid like once a few days for several months straight. And then... she retires.

Most idols also "work" (self-promote on Instagram) and make some extra money doing fans and commercial events. According to a Taiwan report, she recently found that her popularity in Taiwan is better than in Japan, so she might be doing more and more gigs outside of Japan (sadly most of us can't enjoy those).

Also from what we know of Aimi's personality, I suspect she's also making money in some very secretive jobs. It's even possible, she's letting her AV career slipping because she's making so much money in these secret jobs.

She already made very clear money is the ONLY thing she cares about. Unlike many idols, who cares about fame or fan devotion or friendship with co-workers, or some other ways of self-fulfillment, at least so they claim, as required for every idol.

Yeah, I know the genre is a sort of niche, I was just wondering why Aimi has never shot with these "gonzo" companies in spite of having a body which is perfect for them. It's a niche focusing on Aimi-like body types, after all. It is like a loli never being booked by MUM or IBW.

Also from what we know of Aimi's personality, I suspect she's also making money in some very secretive jobs. It's even possible, she's letting her AV career slipping because she's making so much money in these secret jobs.

I would not be shocked by that. Occam's razor says it is more than likely.

I don't follow Aimi too much, but for the kikaku group videos she's doing now, is she actually being credited by name on the cover? Or is she just a face that happens to be Aimi? If her name's not even on the box, that's a good sign she's making even less.

She's not being credited, if you go by covers and DMM's listings. Her face and tits (esp. moles on her chest) are so recognizable, when they put her on the cover (even a tiny picture on the back cover), the identity is absolutely certain. And then sougouwiki also confirms it.

So the mystery remains, she has all the assets and excellent personality and performance and willingness to do quite hardcore acts and proven success with at least Taiwan fans. Why is she mopping about as anonymous planning performer?

I don't know which specific fetish you are talking about (the "sex act that I like") but I am talking about traditional, B/G (or even G/G) sex scenes and traditional, standard solo releases.

for me the traditional (I call it as conventional JAV) are boring stuff, even the girl are my all time favorite, because mostly the procedure are always same : BJ HJ only, solo / self masturbation or the girl getting fingers or using sex toys, 1 vs 1, 1 vs 2 and gangbang

I think alot other people feels the same, so many studios are producing modern JAV now with multiple girls

As of 2017, masturbation only solo releases, BJ HJ only solo releases or even sex with tentacles solo releases are pretty rare if not virtually non existent (I checked but I cannot find a single masturbation only solo release in the last two years, the few masturbation only movies are compilations featuring tons of actresses). Solo movies have generally 4-6-(more rarely)8 scenes, and they feature a bit of everything (classic BG sex, a blowjob scene, a 3P/4P or more people scene which is usually at the end), the only moment I generally skip is the silly interlude in which 2 or 3 guys get the actress naked and start playing with vibrators and those sort of microphones.

Except you have a very specific fetish you don't find in solo movies, in solo movies you have at least three long classical sex scenes with an actress, in planning movies just one.

because people already bore with those stuff, playing with vibrators and mini camera insertion are japanese porn's original, and many people feel its sick and not sexy

its not about fetish, its about more fun, more wild, and more sexy than standart original conventional JAV

About planning vs solo. It's entirely idiosyncratic that prestigious idols can only make solo works (except for major specials like 10 yr anniversary, AVOP etc). And planning vids mostly feature second-ranks (Shiori Tsukasa) or even no-names (the nobody formerly known as Aimi Yoshikawa). It's also idiosyncratic that the top of the top idols tend to make all sex vids like soapland and funny and crazy theme and plot twists are for lesser idols.

Most of the solo vids, seriously I am talking about 99% of solo vids, the way that I watch them...I mean I'm really talking about my opinion, but I really suspect a lot of AV fans are similar... 99% of solo vids are too long by half. A good porn needs to be about 10-20 mins long if you know what I mean. That's the way when I was 14, and it's still pretty much the same. Of course nowadays, I have much better endurance than when I was a cherryboy. But there's no way I can hold myself for one single girl for 2 hours. A multi-girl vid is a very easy (if not cheap) way to increase variety and dynamics to a 2 hour vid. It's not absolutely needed, if you have a good writer, several outfit or costumes, a varied set (indoor, outdoor, different rooms and furniture), that will help solo vids a lot. But like I said, 99% of solo vids fails to hold my attention.

thats what I mean ;)

So I have no idea why none of the top (or near top) studios signs her when even Minako Komukai can claw her way back to a contract. I really can't imagine it's her unwillingness.

Anyway without an exclusive contract, what's the next best way to maximize the money?

Also can't understand why no big studio want to hire her service

by working as much as possible I think, they are not picky, same with other freelancers such as Haruki Sato, Ai Uehara, Hibiki Otsuki, Yui Hatano, Aika, and Nao Wakana

they all working hard, no matter how big or small the studios are they do it, but the different is they have more big studios than the small ones

I think she is making less, but she still stay, its good for us, if other girls in this situation they already leave

I started seeing JAV a decade ago exactly because of their more original themes (the early RCT movies). I like both the genres, they exist for a long time, and will always co-exist. That said, I don't see a change or develop in producing more planning videos, or a change in audience's tastes. If you look in monthly or yearly DVD charts, you will note the more conventional solo releases are the ones which dominate the sellings (eg. the top 100 DMM DVD chart only include solo releases and a couple of harem genre releases, which are possibly even more conventional).

Obviously I would prefer the solo releases with more original ideas, which is a win-win situation but it is pretty rare. I would not be so rigid, however; even solo releases have their themes, and depending on the studio/director/idea there are some nice movies. Also personal tastes count (eg. I like the shotacon genre, and generally skip the soapland, the cuckolding or the office lady movies). And some planning studios produce stupid stuff (I found most of ATOM or DVDSM stuff is stupid, pointless and repetitive, especially the series "On The Other Side Of The Mirror).

Guys this is way too OT. It's an interesting topic, if we are all nice and good, let's start a new thread.

You made some good points. But come on, last 10 years.... 2007 to 2017, there have been many and big noticeable change in industry and fan taste.

You are absolutely right about ATOM. Years ago they were good for a laugh, but now they are total waste of time.

meh, I think you read my words a bit out of context, I had no intention (nor enough knowledge) to discuss the last ten years of changes in AV industry (even if it would be an interisting topic) ;D

I wasn't talking in general, I quoted the sentence "...now many studios are producing modern JAV with multiple girls" as this genre of videos was a new phenomenon, and I was just pointing that it exists for a while but (no value judgement intended!) it does not seem to gain significant market share, as the market keeps on being ruled by the more canonical solo releases.

don't know how much and what kind of JAV that you seen so far, but seriously you can't see any change in audiences tastes ?? you don't know what kind of vids and AV idols that won AV open in the past few years ??

magic mirror ? actually its good, and some of it are very good

but for the guy who love conventional JAV so much, its not your cup of tea

I didn't expect actual selling numbers would had become a matter of opinion. And I didn't expect saying some obviousnesses would irate some fanboy this way.

Then ok, I am "the guy who love conventional JAV so much" (no idea when I hinted that, on the contrary I said more than once I see both genres) and I am "very funny", instead I found you are pretty childish, so yes, discussing is useless, you're certainly right, the planning videos are the new phenomenon, they are taking over the market, they regularly won AV Open and so on...

For everyone else, here are some DMM links to easily verify if I am in bad faith and audiences tastes actually changed, or if each one of these charts consist almost exclusively of solo movies ;):

I retract what I said above about actresses making less if their name is not credited.

This was on my mind and I had a meeting yesterday with a studio and asked them and they said they still get paid pretty much the same. Still, if her name is not credited in the promo materials, it is possible then that the title won't come up when searching for her filmography leading to less popularity.

:D:D:D Hihihi thank you very much for this kind of reply.... I love to see how you debunked numbers with smilies, they certainly make your arguments more solid... surely DMM fakes its numbers and is part of the global conspiracy!! ;)

She loves the money,I can't understand for what she does not record more movies often

Even if she shots only planning movies with other actresses, 80/90% of times these videos feature her as the main cover girl, so probably the producers still see a good commercial value in her. As ding73dong hinted, she probably refuses some offers as she has some side activities which provides her more money than shooting a movie (or given the times, than shooting a single scene for a movie). If I remember correctly, there was an article mentioned in the JAV gossip thread which claimed her agency was complaining about her because Aimi had refused some movies. Maybe she has also been marked as unreliable, so the companies make less offers to book her.

The worst thing is that in the last months she got some weight in the right places and looks hotter than ever, so it's a shame to see her so underused.

her agency claimed she had to refused some offers to show that she still have popularity in AV, this was for answering questions that she already loose her popularity and fall from pecking order :D :D
