Like I said, when you compare with real porn actresses, 6 years is good but not to the point of being called a veteran.

Since "real porn actress" seems like an ambiguous and deeply subjective description at best, we'll just have to agree to disagree.

6 years in the JAV industry pretty much equals an ice age. If that's not a veteran in your eyes...

sorry, I think she is not a veteran because she doesn't do much in genres ... like Hibiki Otsuki did

Okay.

So following your logic, a soldier with 6 years of active service is not a veteran because he was "just" a sniper the entire time.
He should have been a fighter jet pilot, tank engineer, field medic, navy seal and sapper as well.

You know what, my head is starting to hurt, so let's just drop it entirely.

I don't even know if I should participate in this thread, I do miss many old timers, Yuma Asami, Maria Ozawa, Takako Kitahara, Bunko Kanazawa... But I don't really want to see them come back to make AV again, for her sake, for my sake. And I can be accused of preferring the new over the old. If the idol of my heart went away for 5+ years and make a comeback? Compare to some unknown 20 years old newbie? No question I prefer fresh meat.

But anyway tossing in my two-cents on the ongoing argument. In my dictionary, a "veteran" is anyone who has unbroken AV career of at least 12 months plus a day, and also either at least 6 solo works or at least 15 AV of any kind if her name doesn't appear on cover.

Yes the bar is very low. It doesn't take much, never take much to earn the title. In standard English, it just mean "one who has or had a military full time job", say he peel potatoes as a soldier for 2 years. So maybe the 12 months (or more) compulsory service in Taiwan and South Korea doesn't count.... maybe ....

A "real porn actress" is just a non-fake sex performer. That bar is even lower than veteran, just means someone who performed in sex video for pay, let's say on at least two separate shoots.

What @darksider59 wants to say is something like "an old legend" or "mega star".

Anyway... many comebacks only lasted for couple months. I think it's not about if the idol wants some urgent cash vs. return to career. I think it's lack of fan support. Actually lack of fan support was probably 80% of reason most AV idol retired and stay retired. I think a lot of "real" "veterans" wouldn't mind making a living on performing porn until they are 50-60 years old. A girl makes some porn, either she is quitting after a few months, if not, she is probably accepting AV as long term career/lifestyle so at least some of them, maybe a lot of them are willing to do AV until a normal retirement age, like 60 or even 65. Except the market wouldn't support that career choice, so instead of retiring at 60, most of them retired after only 2-5 years in AV. It's not "retirement" actually, it's "being forgotten".

An actress who’s been in the industry for, at minimum, 6 months would be a veteran. Most actresses quit before shooting 6 videos.

US porn actresses either retire quietly or stay involved with the industry (directing, producing, or distribution). I haven't read about retired JAV actresses doing likewise.

Meguri and Hatsune Minori are among the biggest come back of the last years. I would like to see Yuno Hoshi and Sakura Kokomi back in the business. Two amazing actresses and Kokomi is probably my favorite from the golden era.

I should have added that a real porn actress has built a following. Those girls featuring only in MGStage or do just few movies aren't real porn actresses.

A girl who never gets her name on a cover and make solo works with a known studio is still a porn actress as long as she makes sex scenes and gets paid by a studio/publisher. (if she's getting paid by the fucker, she's a prostitute, if she doesn't get paid, she's an exhibitionist, if she gets paid directly by the viewer, she's a freelancer/tuber/FC2-er) So I think MGStage absolutely qualify her as "real porn actress".

Maybe the distinction you want to make is "idol". OK a girl who only made MGStage (or similar) vids never transition to an DVD-publishing studio is a different class. No name and face recognition, yeah I think "idol" can describe the distinction. What's quite interesting is many idols (including many I call veterans) also go back to make MGStage vids a few times. So I think MGStage isn't a lower league or platform from regular studios (unlike pro sports, once you get veteran status in top league, you never want to go back to a lower league, not without a very good reason).

In France, Clara Morgane is still a big name when people talk about porn (maybe now the teens) but many people don't call her a porn actress because she did just few movies.

MGStage use some newcomers in the JAV industry but most of their vids are shit. Bad camera angles, hotel scenes.

I think it's because MGStage want to do documentary gerne. And for me, girls that appear in MGStage are beautiful. But I agree they need to improve the skill of camera man to make the film better.

Is there any label in JAV industry make the film a little bit more art like X-Art?

You're right. Tons of attractive girls in their movies, most the girls also do full movies with other studios. So I end up downloading some videos of MGStage (the ones with the "best" angles).

For movies like X-Art, I would say that uncensored studios like caribbeancom, 1Pondo or pacopacomama. They re-publish a lot of older videos but apparently, they still release new content.

I watch some of her new vids,

My god, she shouldnt comeback at all
Her face looks weird , especially her mouth, it such turn off, just IMO

I don't anything unusual. She was not my cup of tea but can see how she would have a fan base that is happy to have her back or happy to see this type of body/attitude/actress.

Yuuna Himekawa is back under a new name
View attachment 2101287

WOw !!! Those last weeks, I was wondering if I should delete her movies to make some space as she seemed to be on a very long hiatus (some do that and end up being retired). Glad I didn't.
