Can be old, or new.

I'd say for me...The Tales games were fantastic. Especially Tales of Graces. I did enjoy Popolocrois for the PSP also. Anything that is heavily story orientated I'm up for.

Games on the Sony systems and also a few of the Nintendo Portables I hold close to my heart, for sure.

Kind of a tough one......there are just so many variables that make a game enjoyable, as well as so many different types of games. I was never a big console guy, I mean they are great but playing games was all they were good for (I guess that has changed now) so I never got into them. I enjoyed playing some of the WWE games on Playstation with my son, back in the day.

Some games just have memories attached to them. I enjoyed some of the SSI games that were out when PCs' first became popular. I used to play Gettysburg with my cousin after work (may God let his departed soul rest in peace). The Wing Commander series was one of the best I ever played, would love to see them update that (not that they will). They made a movie on it but it paled in comparison to the game. The game also had a part for one of my favorite porn stars Ginger Lynn (she actually can act but porn stars rarely make the transistion to film star). I hear the game is available at GOG now.

Shogun 2 Total War was really fun, it is a strategy and tactics game. As far as First Person Shooter there are just too many good ones to nail it down to one. Call of Duty Modern Warfare is a classic and I really enjoyed Far Cry 3 but the Half-Life series is probably my favorite (even if it is the oldest). Family Project is probably my favorite Visual Novel, the story is just so heart-wrenching and the game is really an investment in your time (around 50 hours or so). I never did get around to getting all the different endings.

With all those different genres how can you pick just one over the other? and then there is replayablity to consider. So you would have to narrow your search parameters a bit for me (though I think I covered everything).

I bought Family Project on J-List back in the day. My god is that game long.
Far Cry 3 was excellent. Still haven't played 4 but the whole atmosphere of 3 was just something that totally quenched my thirst.

It's funny, I have a decent PC rig that my buddy helped me build and I never really max it out to it's full capacity. It's mainly built for emulation purposes. That and also storing a bunch of JAV...

Going into PC games I definitely enjoyed Alien Isolation. (Even though I haven't completed it.) It'd be cool if they made a game similar to Alien Isolation based off of Predator. Set in the jungle...would be something different. I'm getting Crysis vibes thinking about it....

Hm, that is really hard to tell. I would say the Zelda series also I played only one title on the mobile consoles and missed all the titles on the N64 and GameCube. Still waiting for the next title of the series.

Zelda is good fun. I still haven't gotten around to playing Skyward Sword. I finished Ocarina of Time for the 3DS a couple of months ago...now on to Majora's Mask. Fantastic games still to this day.

(Btw, I've decided not to quit...this site is just too much fun.)

The Zelda Gamecube titles are great. Although, Wind Waker has made it's way onto the Wii U...and there's talk of a Twilight Princess re-release for the 3DS.

Tough question but I'd have to say the old Final Fantasy 3 on the SNES, it was the first RPG I've played and I just loved the story, music, and the overall gameplay. I also like the Bioshock series, I'm normally not a fan of shooters but I couldn't stop playing.

I haven't finished Skyward Sword yet. I'm still missing the last side quest as well as the end boss. :( I have Wind Waker HD (thanks to Mario Kart 8), but haven't played it yet.

(Good you didn't quit, but still I'm curious about what you wrote and later edited... ;) )

I hope they will soon release the new Zelda for Wii U. I'm waiting and waiting and waiting for that title. And the release date is moving and moving and moving farer away... :(

I spent many hours and quarters in arcades. Played so many good games on arcade, PC, and consoles. e.g. street fighter(s), gauntlet, time pilot, ghosts and goblins, defender, galaga, etc. etc. etc. Perhaps my favorite arcade game is The adventures of Major Havoc.

Still play it occasionally.

The naval battles are probably the worst part of it but naval battles have always been a weakness in Total War games. At least in "Fall of the Samurai" DLC you get to use some a few modern type warships.....which are basically boss and king of the seas. Kind of like "The Black Ship" but more so. Fun as hell taking out 20 ships with that English battleship (still tricky to do though). It is also great that you can bribe special troops from other clans that you could not normally recruit on your own. But playing on harder modes is almost impossible for some factions (they wipe you out early) and watching die hard supporters and allies change factions just to give you more of a challenge is a bit annoying.

Totally agree with you in terms of Zelda Wii U coming out. Especially when the Nintendo NX has been announced. I can't stand how these publishers like to leave the GOOD games until the last minute. I love Nintendo and the majority of their products but the only issue I have is that they keep milking out a new console each year. The portable systems..my god. With the click of finger they'll be 2 new portable systems out by the end of 2016 most likely. Mario Kart 8 was amazing. For me personally, the best game that came to the Wii U so far.

But they haven't announced any date for that Nintendo NX. It's also not clear if that is really the next non-portable console or if it's a (software) platform for Wii U and 3DS. Everything is very mysterious. Same as the reason why it takes so long to develop Zelda (also Star Fox).

Most recently, Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag. Most open world games keep me for the main story and a few side missions - this one had me aiming to collect every little tidbit.

Prior to that, I was always anticipating the next Grand Theft Auto game. I loved the original, loathed 2, and loved 3, Vice City, San Andreas, 4 and 5. Only 4 and 5 were on console, before that I was a PC gamer.

Everquest. Dang that game had me hooked for YEARS.

Going back even further, I spent many many days on X-Wing, and Duke Nukem 3-D. I even made maps for Duke, and custom missions for X-Wing.

Zelda holds many fond memories. Zaxxon is probably the first game that truly got me hooked on gaming.

Fallout 3 and Dishonored.
I've probably spent more time in Fallout 3 than any other game.

Too many SNES games to list really...one of them is Zelda: A Link to the Past

Well, if I had to pick just one, I'd definitely go with Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn, but here's a list of some other games that I enjoyed playing very much:

Planescape: Torment
Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer (you don't really need to play the base game to understand what's going on)
Neverwinter Nights: Hordes of the Underdark (it's recommended to play the base game and the Shadows of Undrentide expansion because of some recurring characters)
Dragon Age: Origins
Bioshock 1 & 2 & 2's Minerva's Den DLC
Shadow Warrior (2013)
FTL - Faster Than Light

EDIT: I totally forgot about

Shovel Knight
DmC Devil May Cry

and probably a few other games, too.

You might like the Icewind Dale's, also by Bioware. Also Temple of Elemental Evil (you should install the patches to fix some bugs) by Atari. www.co8.org makes an awesome mod for this game.
