Is it still the 1970s in Japan? What is this?
So many scenes when they're "out on the town" - they're in a bar or a restaurant -----> orange glow.
So many scenes when they're back in the apartment - it's like the walls are made out of a lava lamp ------> orange glow.
So many "dark rooms" have this either sickly brown, sometimes yellow, but most often orange tinge that just makes the entire scene feel like you're living back in the cave days and everyone's sitting around the fire.
So many of these actresses are so outrageously fucking beautiful - with the most gorgeous pale super soft porcelain skin. You'd never know it, though! Because the entire scene is shot in some kind of tinge where near everything has to be draped in this super thick oppressive shadow. It's like the biggest kink the Japanese have is pretending they're fucking in a sewer.
It's like amateur porn that was shot back in the 1980's in American cottages. And I don't get it, because if anything, directors like Giorgio Grandi showed that proper studio lighting can really take a scene to the next level. It's amazing how sexy being able to see what's going on actually is.
And like, the girls are made up to the nines. They're beautiful as all heck. And then they get doused in some yellow light like a chimp just found a camcorder for the first time and decided to hit all the buttons on the thing before pressing record.
These dank, dark, dirty aesthetics are the absolute antithesis to who the Japanese naturally and normally are. They are usually clean. They're usually tidy. They usually know how to use a lightbulb.
What is this? Why is this?
Why do more than 75% of the JAVs out there love dank, dark, barely seeable sets bathed in an orange slather so much?
