Can anyone transliterate the name of this label from AV studio Cherries - 平成元年生?

A bit of blind research (mostly via Wiktionary) would indicate that it might be either Hesei gannen nama or Heisei gannen-sei but I'm mostly guessing here.

Heisei Gannensei (Heisei era First Year) should be the correct answer.

I guess what you need in general is a kanji to romaji converter, like this one:

Thanks! That link looks like it will be routinely useful for me.

My only question is - how does it distinguish between different readings of a kanji? For instance, Google's translate feature was defaulting to 'nama' for 生.

I'm not doubting the accuracy of the link, I'm just curious about the method.
