I was wondering, What Happens to Japanese Porn Stars After They Retire?

The "ocasional" Jav actress (1~10 titles) might not have any problems in her private life, the ones that have 100+ become celebrities, and may even have their future secure in terms of savings and investments. But what about the ones in the middle, what happens to them?

I found this interesting article which refers to this topic...

And! What about those who go into real hardcore stuff?, 3P, vomit, scat, Zoo? Do they actually have no problems in carrying on with a normal life?

I am curious too. I've always been fascinated with the pornstar's lifestyle and their thoughts, how they felt on their "firsts", be it normal sex, anal, bondage etc, and also see how they cope after retirement.

How difficult is it for an ex-AV star to find a man and start a family? I'm not sure about the mentality of Japanese people; is it a huge shame to marry an ex-AV actress, or is their society more accepting now that the industry is so massive?

From what I googled, some of the famous ones have stayed in the entertainment or sex industry as models, aspiring actresses/singers or hostesses. Some others in the west range from becoming "politicians" (Mary Cary) or advocates for anti-pornography(Crissy Moran) etc.

Im also interested in those that RETURN...why they did return (perhaps it'd lead from what they did when they first retired)

IE: Aika Miura, Sally Yoshino and Chihiro Hara. I wish I could read Japanese so I could try to search the internet about stories on them.

I'm just guessing but most of them probably end up marrying and having kids. Some do hit the soaplands like Miki Sawaguchi but I'm sure most become housewives like most women in Japan.

I agree with that, probably most of them just become housewives but with my original Question I was referring to the ...let's call it "psychological impact" of their past, specially those who went as far as scat and zoo. I guess it wouldn't be nice to go to the kindergarten to pick up the kids and being recognise by someone..."are U the one that was r***ing by an octopus and then ate shit while being vomited by some other girl?". What do their husbands think?

Even if recognised, most probably they would not be asked, at least directly, but to keep on with a regular life must take a lot of courage or indifference.

I would be surprised if they got married and had kids. I find that social stigma is multiplied 100 fold in Japan when compared to America so I doubt they would be able to marry anyone.

Interesting. Do you mean social stigma in general or specifically when it comes to pornography?

My impression, for what it's worth is that, yes, social stigma can certainly be a much bigger deal in Japanese culture but pornography doesn't tend to elicit the same sort of moral judgement there.

For instance, it was not uncommon for many years for former (and occasionally current) pornstars to become more mainstream celebrities. Of course, this does happen sometimes in the U.S./Europe, but I think it's far more rare.

Keep in mind, I haven't actually been to Japan. But I've dated several Japanese nationals, have several Japanese friends here and made a point of keeping up on the culture - at least from an academic standpoint.

Anyway, that's just my impression.
