However, why is a detective like Reiko pursuing a scam even though it does not involve murder? The case goes back several weeks earlier. Reiko’s acquaintance, the wholesaler Akagi Yoshihiro (Takubo Issei) committed suicide. After reviewing his records of the orders placed, Reiko had determined that he was the victim of a malicious confidence trick. This was equivalent to murder.
