Resident Evil Series

RE 4 is probably the most fun to play, if I really had to choose. It also has such a great atmosphere; the perfect balance between action and horror. I'm playing through the game yet again, and it never gets old.
 
Finished it! I had a final time of just under 11 hours, and I died only 9 times. Man, the credits sequence is sad... Seeing the Ganados when they were still human, carrying out their lives before being turned into savages by Saddler is depressing.

Could it be that there were some survivors from the village after the end of RE 4? Assuming Leon, Ada, and Luis didn't kill every single Ganado, maybe those few that were still alive went back to normal after Saddler and his control Plaga were killed. I have the same suspicions about the Majini from RE 5, though it's never revealed where their controller is or how it was engineered to be different by Tricell.

Are you talking about the remake of the first game? I think that one is definitely the scariest in the series. RE 4 also has a lot of freaky parts.
 
Original Resident Evil on the original PlayStation is still may favorite game in the series. I also really enjoyed Resident Evil 0 on the Gamecube.

I was a fan of RE from the beginning. A friend borrowed me RE5, I tried, had a loock, and am convinced that's the end of everything that made RE special and great. While the zombies won't die, Resident Evil is dead now. Damn you, Kenichi Ueda!
 
In many terms the main series died in RE 5, still i'm looking forward Resident Evil Revelations later this month, its set between RE 4 & 5 and look like the good and old survival horror.
