I understand why threads have to be removed from time to time because of legal reasons or because of banned members. It would seem that notifying members that had their threads removed when the members never intentionally broke any rules would be the right thing to do. I don't care about individual posts, (though that would also seem polite if it was feasable), but it would seem to be the decent thing to do. Even if it was a canned reply such as :

"Your thread was removed following a DMCA request".

Another idea is that leaving a placard or notice in place of a deleted thread would answer questions to those who went looking for that thread, especially if the subject had been around and had been active for a long time.

Not complaining, just offering some input on the subject. I understand that the staff here often has their hands full. However being polite to the good standing members that do their best to contribute here would seem to be a good idea if it was at all feasable. We just like to know what is going on or if we did anything wrong.

we do let members know a lot of the time when files are removed but the latest bout of dmca's was too much, hence the missing threads thread
