I went the Random forum last night to see if there were any new contributions to some recently posted threads by various members.
What I saw was a whole string of threads by one member with four or five pics posted in each thread and the recent threads by other members were now on page two.
This member has posted 24 threads now in a twelve hour period in Random.

I posted this response in one of his threads:
I do wish however that Supermax would have been considerate enough to put them all in one thread.

I see as I'm typing now that there is a title block and then add the pics relating to the title he typed in for the reply.

Now, all other topics from other members are bumped to page two nearing page three and beyond....
Just a matter of courtesy IMHO.

A good example of oodles of pics in one thread is handyman's thread, "Photos from Japan". All 147 pages tucked neatly into one thread.

The reply I got was that he inquired about a sub forum for General viewing and no one considered his input.
He then posted five more threads with pics in Random.

Is this allowed? Is it cool to bump all others threads off of page one so you can post a few pics per thread?

If it is, I'll start getting my collection together.

Some forums on akiba-online have only a few threads and a photography or art forum could easily best that it seems. Mininova.org for example seems now to exclusively focus on the distribution of content by artists and producers, maybe a bit of a head start is not such a bad idea.

different subjects, different threads methink

but as usual, it's all a matter of common sense, and it looks like that user is lacking in this department (see also my previous rants...)

btw, those pics are beautiful!

If it is, I'll start getting my collection together.

if ain't porn related by all means go for it!

I'm not picking sides one way or another on the issue myself. Although I can empathize. This is a big place and I use my control panel to check threads I've "subscribed to" for new posts or to unsubscribe from threads I have grown a bit tired of or want to move on from. The search for "new posts" feature is nice and I usually check that to see if anything I might find interesting has popped up. But I seem to always miss interesting stuff anyway and occasionally go browsing through the "sub forums" and finding interesting posts and topics I had not seen before.

Sometimes though nics get the urge to share and seem to be thread hogs. I really can't fault others for participating here. As long as the thread and its contents are not inflammatory to other members it would seem to be a good thing overall.

I combine the new posts feature with the forums to exclude from view within the edit options from user cp. That way I don't have to wade through too much posts which do not hold my attention.

I don't really care myself whether users hog threads; I do not care much for dissonance though, so I try to add somewhat to a pleasant atmosphere.
