I downloaded some free software for that purpose but haven't gotten around to learning to use it. Is it hard? Do you recommend a particular editing software? I'm on PC, BTW.

Haha I was hoping you had a recommendation. :D I haven't been able to find a free modern editor without it having some strings attached.

For what it's worth Ive been using the old MS Movie Maker program. It's simple to use and free, though I don't think MS has a download link for it anymore and so you'll have to try a 3rd party. However the video output is of a lesser quality than the original no matter how high you set the settings, so I've been looking for an alternative. Not a huge difference most times but I'm a stickler for video quality.

I suppose looking to see if there's an opensource video editor is probably the best chance. They can be quite good but they also tend to be less beginner friendly.

Edit: Probably worth looking into clipchamp for free and easy video editing as well.

Ah, the classic binge purge cycle. Usually it's guilt, an admission of porn addiction, committing to a relationship or the dreaded hardware failure.

All valid, and not everyone has the wherewithal to commit to something like a NAS which helps to insulate against single or even double drive failures. Malware night be the greatest threat to a curated collection at this point.

Keep it if it gives you pleasure, dump it if it's more trouble than it's worth.
