New and need guidance with extentions

Hello, I am a new member here, and am trying to learn so I can both benefit and share on the site.

So firstly, I am learning how to dl. I have seen the file extentions something.rar and those seem simple enough, start at 1 unpack and it does it all.

BUT the something.rar.001 and so on, how do I get those to work.

And them there is the something.avi.001, same question, how do you handle the ones that are .001 adn so on.

I thought in teh case of something.rar.001 to get rid of the .001 but then all the files are the same name and that causes naming issues. Can someone giude me please. Thanks.....

combine first with FFSJ
(fast file joiner)

if u dont have already...u can ask to uncle google, "fast file joiner"

mazpadi, thank you fo ryoru help I did dl the program and it seems to work great....thanks again...

the addy you gave now only has the basic ffsj, the link to the standard is dead now, BUT, i searched and i did find a link that seemed to allow dl of the ffsj Standard http://www.jaist.ac.jp/~hoangle/filesj/ hope that helps someone else....i am using at present the basic and it looks smooth so far....
