If ddl uploaders really cared about sharing they would have been uploading to usenet. Instead all they ever cared about was getting downloads and turning that into money. I won't be missing most of these ddl sites and hope it spurs real sharing going forward.

You're painting all uploaders with a very broad brush! You speak as though you checked out every uploader, & found them to be uploading only for the money. I've been posting on Usenet for the past couple of years, & finally bought a FS premium account as a way to share on BBS forums too. I've never had an affiliate account, but by your logic, I'm a true believer because I'm a Usenet poster, & at the same time, I'm a greedy pig because I used a ddl file locker to post here.

The funny thing is, everyone was so busy thanking "paid" posters for their free-to-download porn, they didn't seem to have time to take them to task for posting for money... until the free porn flood slowed to a trickle. If you want to find a villain here, look to the file lockers themselves. They used uploaders & downloaders to make a huge pile of money. They knew they were exploiting a loophole in the law; look how quickly most of them disabled affiliates or killed open downloads to protect their rear ends when the MU bust was announced. They always knew how shady their enterprises are, & most of them were all too ready to bail on their affiliates & premium account holders.

For uploaders, file lockers were always a means to an end, whether it was to share the fun, or to make money. Anyone who understood what the lockers were doing should have known that their time to operate freely was limited, & that this result would come around.
The post to which I'm replying is not the first response in this thread to attack those who uploaded for money. I suppose my point here is that it was a good ride while it lasted, & there's no reason for those in the BBS community to start attacking each other.

Freenet is horrible, theres a reason it's not popular after so many year, Share and Perfectdark are successful implementations of Freenet in p2p, its maybe the future.

Wiki says this:

# On 1 January 2010 a stricter copyright law went into effect in Japan that rendered the intentional unauthorized downloading of copyrighted material illegal, even if only for private use. Japanese authorities have not arrested any downloaders as yet, but have arrested a number of people accused of uploading copyrighted material.
# A Perfect Dark user was arrested for the first time on 27 January 2010. The user had been uploading and sharing one episode of the Japanese animation TV series Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood with Perfect Dark, and was charged with breach of copyright law.[4]
# On 10 June 2010, a second user, a 43-year-old man, was arrested on the suspicion of uploading about one thousand copyrighted files, in particular, the Big Windup! anime series.[5]
# On 8 October 2010, a 42-year-old woman was arrested for uploading the Mitsudomoe TV anime series.

So, unless it has gotten more stealthy since 2010, it doesn't seem that great to me. But, there has to be something somewhere that will work.

uploaded.to banned some countries, including where I live.

I noticed recently that uploaded.to is not the only one blocking specific countries. I would only hope the uploaders making their choices would also choose to ban these filehosts as retaliation to this blatant discrimination.

I noticed other forums are restricting all recent posts to specific file hosting sites that they have pre-approved for this and several other good reasons. I think we should do the same. Make the announcement that those file hosts that are restricting specific countries be banned from Akiba.

Anyone else agree on this?

I agree with you in principle, but I hate to punish downloaders in other countries just because I live in America and so many posters are now using upload.to, which is blocked for me. I have a nice collection of JAV and I am getting old. If all access to JAV downloads stops, I will remain grateful for what I have. We do, however, need some international agreement which allows Americans to purchase legal factory copies of Japanese adult videos. Now, even if I wanted to pay full price for the latest Rei Mizuna video, Japan will not let retailers there ship the video to me. Now THAT is NOT fair.

BTW, today another of my favorite JAV sites dropped Wupload, which I can get in the US, and now has only three file hosts, TWO of which do not accept US customers any more.

You did not read my post carefully. I used to buy DVD's from a dealer who was willing to ship to the US, but they went out of business. I also bought them from YesAsia, but they stopped handling adult videos. The big Japanese internet companies who sell DVD's in Japan, like DMM and Ryohin, do not sell them to overseas customers. If you know honest dealers who will sell videos to US customers, send me the links by PRIVATE MAIL. We are not allowed to post them on the forum.

This thead, HOWEVER, is about FILE HOSTS, and my comments about which file hosts are currently being used or dropped by uploaders is ON TOPIC. Any discussion about BUYING DVD's belongs in another thread.

If your so rightously offended about someone here for JAV and the possiblity of D/L a video that you have to shout, "ACTUALLY BUY JAV DVDS !!!!!" may I ask what are you doing here?!?!

SeniorIdol..I also lost the last supplier about 2 yrs ago and it was usenet and torrents that allowed my to continue to add to my collection, so I feel your pain.

Sorry for the rant but JOSLOP(yes I know I misspelled this) was acting like an ass and it has been a rough couple of weeks for us all.

I see you guy's point but what i dont get is why not just get FLV jav. There's tons out there like xhamster etc. And other sites have full jav flvs and streaming free javs AND it's even better for you guys. Cause many of you guys like Straight Porn and that's the most there's tons and tons.

I go for lesbian and there's not alot of that but there was tons of FLvs i found. 1hr + movies. But yeah, you go for Straight movies than you should have tons and tons of FLV to download.

i got like 50 full Lesbian JAV flvs recently from video sites.

I think those filehosts shouldn't be banned. Be fair to uploaders too! But I would propose having another mirror (which doesn't block any countries) if uploaders use any of the country-blocking filehost).

Agree. And I'm not a fan of security through obscurity. Especially if I entrust my "collections" to a program.

Heh, it amazes me that people actually download FLV's when they look like garbage.

I also downloaded a couple of FLV's from the perspective that LQ is better than none.
Well... FLV is good enough on mobile devices, but I wonder how many ppl would put erotic contents on mobile devices.

They changed the program, I haven't seen arrests with the new 1.08, and so far only uploaders, I think they revealed their identity by some mistake like setting your own name into the profile...

I think the guys who are still running affiliate sites are making trouble for everyone, themselves included. They didn't get the message the Feds sent out, and w/ people still looking to fill the cash void created when the big boys dropped pay-outs, there are too many sites. Every time I look at a post it seems there seems to be another file host I never heard of. It's getting out of hand.

Yes, you absolutely have to pay for usenet but at least we are all getting the same speeds at around the same price, no captcha, wait 50 minutes BS. I don't have the time for that.

Well, maybe it's on to DMM . . .

Last time I fired up Share and Perfectdark this summer there was naught but shite on there, at least for genre stuff. Very few new releases. Maybe it is still good for some things but there were some seriously old vids that were on Winny the first time I used it! Different now?
