'Hentai' Anime Episodes Banned in Russia as Child Pornography

Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications has forbidden to distribute Japanese cartoons in the genre of "hentai". It is about 13 episodes published in the Russian social network Vkontakte. Experts estimated and accepted it as child pornography.

First complaint on the anime Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications received in April, but then in the departament there was not found competent experts of the cartoon evaluation.

As a result, outside experts made an expertize and rendered a verdict: hentai is a child pornography.

Analyst said in these animated films "exploit interest to sex" often "in perverted form", as well as there is no "storyline and any cultural or historical value". Also according to experts "all characters are presented as minors, who participate in pornographic scenes".

The law "About Child Protection from Information Harming Their Health and Development" came into force last year. Now provider or host owner on demand of Russian Federal Service for Supervision of Communications should remove all illegal content from the websites.

Hentai is a genre of the Japanese animation (anime) which basic element are containing in them erotic or pornographic scenes.

I agree that many of the hentai programs have "no storyline", but otherwise the laws are getting stupider.

No one is molested or abused in an anime. It's fictionnal. But all politicians over the world are corrupted and this is not fictionnal.

And so continues the war on bullshit.

What's funny is that the anti-loli proposed bills in Japan itself, which could potentially classify hentai as child pornography, have recently been pulled back for review, thanks to a move by mangaka Ken Akamatsu. Here is a Sankaku Complex article about it.

it's funny how somebody watches the content and desides what content people should or shouldn't watch.. imho "18+" there - is not for somebody to ban that content for me, but for anybody to decide what to watch for themselves :distressed:

Ceewan, you can "fuck the law" as much as you want, but tomorrow you will wake up in antiutopia and go to prison for downloading a shitty mp3 file that you don't even like - just because you can't afford a lawer and even if you had a lawer it would take you years and thousands of $ to prove that you're right

I think you missed the point. The law may be the law, but I have no respect for a law that attempts to restrict forms of expression and basic human freedoms, like what you can say, what you can think, what you can read, etc. Because, come on, that's not law, that's mind control.

Those are the chances you take. You either have the balls to passively protest or you just cower in a corner saying "Yes Sir please don't hurt me" and do whatever anyone in authority tells you.

I love my country but some laws do more harm than good. I do think child porn should be illegal and I think it is disgusting. People that film themselves or others having sex with a child should go to jail. I do not think that the government has the right to say a picture is too dangerous or harmful and imprison someone over it.....that is just stupid.

I don't think you can have Public libraries full of copyrighted material that is free for viewing by the general population and say that citizens cannot share freely what they purchased with others because someone owns the rights to it and isn't getting paid for everytime someone else listens/watches/reads it. If I own something I can share it with whomever I please and if someone wants to do the same with me I think that is just great. That is how it was before the internet and that is how it should be now.

I agree that some material is too adult for young people to understand. So I agree that some material should be kept "behind the counter" and not where everyone can see it. I do not agree that you can classify something such as a hentai game as illegal for adults because any government, mine included, thinks we shouldn't see it. Do that and political commentaries against the government are the next to go, (and in many countries those are already illegal).

An individual should have basic human rights. If you don't stand up for them than you are giving permission for someone else to take them from you.

"Those who stand for nothing fall for anything", (Alexander Hamilton 1798).

Welocome to the Communist aka Feminist utopia, seriously this is how it starts, first they take away your right to watch porn then before you know it, you are in jail for sneezing without Gov consent.

ROFL! Russia did not always have laws concerning CP now they are just looking for ways to suppress freedom of speech on the internet. Sad but true.
