Gennosuke, a clan retainer, kills one of the clan ministers as part of a plot to achieve reform. He is pursued by his former comrades, each hoping to complete the vendetta put on Gennosuke by the clan. With the help of a master swordsman, Yamane, Gennosuke has a chance at survival.
Gennosuke est en fuite pour avoir tuer un conseiller de son clan. Il est pourchassé par la fille du défunt accompagnée de son futur mari et du maître d’armes. Il va prendre refuge dans une montagne shogunale, véritable repaire des chercheurs d’or. Il y rencontre un couple en mission, chargé discrètement de récupérer de l’or au nom de leur clan. La situation est délicate pour tous, on ne rigole pas dans une propriété shogunale.
