DRM Removal for EIC Purchases

When purchasing on EIC, you get a digital download WMV file, but it is encrypted with DRM. You must then use WS Player (Japanese DRM streamer) to play it. Anyone know a way to rip the video off of the player or otherwise remove DRM other than a screen record?

Also does Okashik have similarly DRM encrypted files? Will be purchasing some movies from there as well using Japanese gift cards if possible. If that fails could also try a Wise card.

Anyone have info?

Okashik is no DRM, videos are all mp4 that play direectly in the browser window and can be downloaded, photobooks and magazines are .pdf files

Not even screen recording is possible with WS Player, it has protection against that. If you try, all you get is a black screen where the videos should be. You can't even printscreen it.

The real problem with it is it won't accept any card payment, even Vpreca gift doesn't work.

You need a HDMI-splitter and a second computer then you can record the video.

Basically on one computer you have a capture card with HDMI input.

On the other computer you attach the video output to the input of the HDMI splitter and the output from the HDMI splitter is attached to the input of capture card on computer one.

Then on computer one you start up your recording software and start playing the video back on computer two.

I might sound complicated but it's quite simple.

@Immergeil I see what you mean, that would work indeed. At that point I guess it would be better to use proper screen capture hardware though, like you would if you were to record videogame footage from a console, for example.

I think WS Player also exists for Android, maybe it's possible to capture from a phone or tablet if it has screen capture function too?
