I think this answer to this question is pretty straight forward for some.
But nevertheless would love to hear some of your views.

For me, after being alive for a few decades as an asian borned in asia with a quite strict family, I find that I'm more interested in other cultures than my own. Maybe yes I'm generally romanticing them and whatever I dislike or hate about my own, some of the same could be found in, say, Nordic or English cultures.

How about you?

I agree with you. Noticing flaws in your own culture is much better than pretending there aren't any. It's more offensive that you alone can't influence them in any way.
