I got around to watching Kingsglaive a few days ago. I thought the CG was fantastic, very life-like and the battle scenes were amazing. Maybe the plot wasn't the best but I think it's aim was to set it up so you follow on by playing FFXV. It has definitely got me in the mood for FFXV.
