In recent months and years, I actually think the use of attractive actors in JAV has been increasing extremely. There's this guy with longer hair who appears in every second video, can't think of his name right now, and he's extremely popular with Japanese women apparently. And there's also that other guy who looks pretty good and whom Idea Pocket dedicated his own compilation of scenes to. Also another couple actors who look pretty good. I think there's definitely a change going on right now, a move away from the really ugly and really disgusting old, ugly men seen in JAV a few years ago, towards attractive men. Maybe because they are seeing a chance with female audiences, I don't know. But it has definitely changed.

To tell the truth, I like smaller, usually skinnier males in JAV unlike the men here who are huge. The skinnier ones seem to be more gentle and grateful to have sex with beautiful while the men in American porn seem to be more arrogant and less grateful

Erm... I know you probably didn't intend it this way, but what a stereotyping comment.

There are many features about average Japanese men that are aesthetic and attractive. I wouldn't call them ugly.

What is it about singers and actors that elevates them from such an extreme categorization (ugly)?

Eyelid surgery?

Most Japanese men are ugly and don't think as one of few handsomest Jap would do JAV, but mostly is the girls that counts as most people watches it are male also sometime hunks get on people nerves because is better for common men to fuck sexy girls making us viewers think we can be with them too.
