The closure occurred around 6 pm, when the attraction
operators decided to close two elevators that connect an
observation deck at 350 meters with another 450 meters
for 30 minutes due to safety concerns.

Yamzaki Maki, a spokesman for Sky Tree, could not say how
many thousands of visitors were affected by the closure
adding that all were able to return to the lowest level once
again ran the elevators.

Rainy weather also made it difficult to enjoy the spectacle
from above " I have long been waiting to come here "
said Ayumi Nakazawa, who won tickets to the opening
ceremony of the tower.

" I can not see the city (due to rain), but it was exciting "
said Nakazawa told reporters after becoming the first official
visitor to the observation deck.

The disaster of March 11 last year, sparking the worst nuclear
crisis in a generation, saw the number of tourists visiting Japan
fell 27.8% over the previous year to 6.22 million, according to
the National Tourism Organization of Japan.

Amid security concerns, the tower operator said Tokyo Sky Tree
was equipped with the latest technology to meet the earthquakes
that regularly shake Japan, one of the most earthquake-prone
nations in the world.

This is a gift to all. Enjoy it.

I would think that looking at rain 450 meters high would be just as exciting as looking at rain 1 meter high. :casual:

I liked the "Aqua" graphics with all the stampeding herds of cotton in the sky. BRAVO! :cheer:
