  • if you want some pointers on ripping im happy to help if i can. did you mean you are using meguIVit? or the straight MeGUI? by the special avisynth script do you mean QTGMC? (written by vit) or the original TGMC?
    depending on settings (and your computer of course) a rip could take anywhere between 17 hours (as yours did) or 4-5, giving very similar results.

    It is straight MeGUI and the script is simply a frame doubler. It inserts a frame in between intermediate frames. It works really well but has some quirks that could be worked out.

    It is neither QTGMC or TGMC. The audio has to be muxed after the encoding is completed as well.

    ok. i just thought that as you said you are a novice then MeguiVit would be the best choice. state of the art deinterlacing and ripping with a choice of 30 or 60 fps, and no need to mux audio etc afterward.
