I saw this about Global Media doing AI Remastered the SLD line from SD to HD.

That's cool. I own VideoProc which has an upscaling function that really improves quality as well. My PC is pretty slow though so it takes overnight to do. If you have a badass gaming computer it would no doubt be much quicker.

I promise this is not a plug for the other thread, but check out my snippet on these types of AI upscales already on DMM. This will only get better and more frequent, and I'm all for it! All those times we've wished our favorite stars and their titles had come out when FHD became normal.

Can you show a screenhot of the vid before and after? The upscale is it in 1080p and can you upscale to 4K?

I guess there are a few software to do this like
1. Video2X
2. Waifu2x
3. Real Video Enhancer

I'm going to check out Waifu2x and report back -

From the screenshots they haven't impressed me so far, the models smudge too much.

But image upscaling has been incredible. I've had fun upscaling low res retro covers.

Holly cow with my RTX 4060TI 16 gig, for a mp4 1.35 gig 1024x580 upscaling to 1920x1080 using RealESRGAN running 20 hrs and I'm only 22% completed. Looks like it will take 4 more days.

I use Winxvideo AI to upscale some old JAVs, it works well but it takes a while

It took 87 hrs to go from 1.35g 1024x580 upscaling to 1920x1080 5.06g. Definately only the best of the best movie will be upgraded. I scare to see how long 4K will take. Here's the comparison.

Correct. Im trying to do one upscale to 4K and it says 700 hr. Once that is done in a month I will go back to 1080.
