R18, when or if you return, I'm looking forward to your take on the two questions I had asked in this post, regarding:
1) Captain Bondage, and
2) How much attention is being paid to the highly important translated synopses, or "product descriptions" (especially since Hans Kowalski has raised the issue in the past, as well as in the post that followed mine).
I would like to ask you a third question, if you would permit me.
In this recent post, I wrote about the effect of Hitomi Fujiwara's videos being pulled in Traci Lords fashion, and in my following post I summed up the big problem:
I think the great tragedy here is that a good number of JAVs have disappeared from DMM / R18's listings. We rely on these sources to get JAV information, and it is now terrible that searches for these videos will result in dead ends.
Since I wrote that, I experienced several other no-shows at DMM. (No-shows at R18 do not count as much, because so far R18 is far from comprehensive; when searching in R18, I'm never surprised when I don't get a hit. ) I suspect these other no-shows may well have been videos having nothing to do with Ms. Fujiwara.
What's prompting this post is that I just searched for SEX-02, and it was another no-show at DMM. When I Googled the Japanese title, the first listing was DMM... and it pointed to a 404 page. The second listing pointed to a description of the movie at another site, and I made sure to check whether this was another Hitomi Fujiwara movie; the actress turned out to be somebody else, translated as "Liz Hanabishi."
I am concluding we are getting more and more no-shows at DMM. This is awful.
It's not only bad for the problem Lollers1 raised three posts ago:
"...3 - 4 vids have been removed from R18 entirely... No DRM = if you downloaded your purchase you would still have it now."
If I paid money for a video that cannot be downloaded, I'd be furious if the video was suddenly made unavailable. I don't think much can be done about this, because the higher-ups at your company have made this decision to combat piracy, but it is still a serious problem. It is, however, a separate problem than the one I'm raising now, and if we may concentrate on it:
We had a very sophisticated member around here who unfortunately no longer participates, named Nick_Wells (I called him the Professor), and I recall his very apt description for DMM:
"The Holy Grail of JAV."
You see, we rely on DMM to get our JAV information as the last stop of all things JAV. This is a fundamental thing that DMM is known for.
If we can no longer rely on DMM to get our JAV information, then DMM becomes another JAV vendor site. I think the ones who run the companies you work for should not ignore this great advantage that DMM is perceived to have.
I propose you bring this matter to the attention of the DMM brass, and suggest strongly that if a decision is made to delete a video, the listing (with all of the valuable information) should still be made available. For those who search to acquire the videos, a note could be added that the video is not available at this time. (For sensitive videos regarding, for example, actresses who are taken off the market, a little editing could be performed on their movie pages, perhaps deleting their names.)

As I mentioned before the Japanese adult industry is having some trouble in the last past month for some incidents.

DMM as well of the other big distribution channels in Japan are working together with IPPA to just distribute content that has been oversees by IPPA. So at this moment IPPA is requesting all the distributors to stop distributing content not overseed by them. So at the moment many tittles are discontinued untill they get the OK from IPPA.

Yes, Captain Bondage is busy with Moby Dick and Tom Hanks so I am replying here.
He is still around reviewing the translations, that is the real reason why he is busy.
We release around 2000 tittles every month and we are already very busy translating the tittles of this movies. We would love to translate every single product description but this is too time consuming at this moment so just some of the description are translated. We will keep translating as much as we can.

Justme4jav: GAS has (or had as I'm not sure if he's still there or not) an English speaker on their huge staff of 2 or 3 people. Consider emailing them and asking when #383 will be on R18. It was most kind of R18.com to respond to my questions, although he skipped my last one... about DMM / R18's tendency to "unlist" movies. I guess he didn't bother, because he may have felt my suggestion to make his bosses aware of this problem would not do any good.
That was the conclusion I reached in this recent post, where I couldn't help but mention another movie (DRZ-003... in fact, the whole series behind that one) has taken a probably-permanent vacation.
Now the reason why this whole series was removed had nothing to do with a now-untouchable actress; maybe the reason boiled down to the series being too old. Yet... even if the movies are no longer being offered (and I don't see why that should be), what harm would it do to keep the movie pages open, for valuable reference?
The reason why I'm posting is, I just checked for DVDES-717. The DEEPS studio is no slouch, so for this title to go missing is unfathomable.
There have been times when a movie does not come up on DMM through a code-search, but mysteriously, you can still find the title through the page of an actress. I just tried doing that with one of the movie's actresses, Rui Tsukimoto, but DVDES-717 was missing from her filmography, as well. (As a multi-actress movie, it is possible the original DMM listing never credited the actresses, of course.)
Obviously I have been spoiled, because it was wonderful to search for a DVD code through DMM and be assured of finally getting the information one was seeking. Now I see we no longer have that luxury. It's heartbreaking, and an inescapable measure of DMM's slowly losing its luster.

Member Realschule began a new thread ("100?X???" - Series Vanished from DMM/R18) wondering about why a whole series of movies has been deleted. Evidently, the reason had to do with the producer facing "indecent exposure" charges as the movies were shot outdoors (although some of the defendants are pleading not guilty because sufficient measures were taken. Which I would believe). Regardless, isn't this a pointless reason to remove so many listings? Even if the DMM brass felt fear of the long arm of the law (the company involved was a DMM production company), make the movies unavailable for sale, and leave the listings alone.

When a movie is removed from DMM or R18, what does happen exactly?
I mean, streaming or listing movie details from your websites won't be possible anymore,
but would DRM server check service be removed also?
Downloaded DRM contents need online license verification, when a movie is removed/unlisted for any reason, these downloaded contents can't be played anymore??

My first experience with R18.com = HORRIBLE.
I tried to purchase a video to stream, to see how the site works, and it simply says Content Not Found whenever I try to stream in IE, or when I try to play in the R Player Plus Windows 8.1 app, same error. What a frustrating and broken experience this has been... I've NEVER had trouble purchasing online content from any video site until R18.com. Now my credit card is being rejected by R18.com, but I spoke to my bank and my bank says the charges are being approved when they come through, it's R18.com that is rejecting payment after my bank approves them.
Who's running that site anyway?

I read that international credit cards dont work anymore on DMM and my mastercard doesnt work
What prepaid credit card service did you use?
Im mostly looking for to buy IV downloads for the moment. Those are not on R18 even if DMM redirects
there saying the service has been moved to R18 instead.
DMM has alot of IV in HD that are not available on other sites.
It seems like its recently DMM changed that foreign cards cant be used as I noticed it also happened to people who play online DMM games.
I think I try japan codes ahead and see if it works.
I need to also use VPN when using prepaid credit card and to be able to download.
As they now demand also that one has to have a japanese ip to use prepaid credit
cards it seems.

R18.com, I'm not usually one to raise the dead (threads) but I was once again considering trying the PPM thing. Can you say which studios would have PPM titles released at the same time as their VOD releases? Do some studios still do that? I'm just worried if I take the time and trouble (and money!) to prepare for using PPM that I'll have to wait months or more! to see parts of titles I'd like to see.

Message to R18, Cap'n Bondage, DMM. This is regarding what I feel is your poor labeling and misleading tagging of genres.
I don't like what you've done with category id # 5005 and 5076. I know 5076 is relatively new. But you've chosen to dump tons of video titles into those categories that have NO BUSINESS being there IMHO.
For a searcher like myself, 5005 is all I needed. If I searched on "Anal," it means only one thing: I wanna see Japanese women getting a$$f#cked. Anal Sex. Not women licking guys' asses. That is not "ANAL." That would be a category you should call "RIMMING." And I certainly don't want to see SCATOLOGY results in my search. Please get those Opera videos out of 5005 and 5076. Yes, I know there's a market for them in Japan and yes, it's the same hole, but anal sex and scat fetish are entirely different things for most of the heterosexual buttf#cking world. You already have a category for SCAT. Put the OPUD & enema squirting videos there. You've totally messed up 5005. If you have gay anal sex videos, put them under "GAY."
And you already have a category for transgenders, shemales, trannies, or as you call them, "New Halfs." Get them out of the 5005/5076 categories too. That would be my request.
Compared to 2015 with all the great, hard Sana Mizuhara anal sex titles (as well as other reliables like Nozomi Hazuki, even Maki Hojo's FITCH work and Reiko Kobayakawa's anal titles), 2016 has been a disappointment. Not that I don't appreciate the great Yuriko Shiomi anal title for Madonna (poorly shot with miserable lighting, BTW) as well as Kaho Shibuya's hard anal title for Madonna and one of my all-time faves, Mirei Yokoyama's anal titles, Karina Nishida's, Serina Hayakawa's, Miho Nakazato's & a couple others.
If JAV is shying away from M/F anal sex scenes, I have a good idea why, as it is largely the same case here in the U.S.: transgender/newhalf scenes. So many of the male "talent" have crossed over to have anal sex with trannies, resulting in USAV women narrowing their lists significantly in terms of the guys they trust to work with, especially in anal scenes.
Just like in the US, those transgender JAV guys/gals are prime carriers of STDs. Maybe you should stop focusing on Shemales and, instead, get back to shooting more M/F anal sex scenes. You guys have "STOP STD" PSA's at the end of many videos. Maybe you should stop shooting/promoting so much shemale crap and that would go a long way to solving the problem.
