Veterans Who Experienced the 'Golden Years', Please Share your Knowledge

I keep hearing about how JAV is getting boring, and as somebody who got into it quite late (about 2020) I can agree that everything seems a bit samey. I keep hearing about the golden years (2000-2010 or even later). As somebody who missed this period, I want to know what the fuss is all about, and I doubt I'm alone.

I know a lot of older porn is hard to find, and I'm not expecting people to provide the actual content, but just recommendations.

Porn is very personal, so it can be hard to recommend something that's good for everybody, but what are some of the classic series, episodes, or even actresses that were all the rage back in this period.

Personally I do care about storylines (I actually like NTR), but JAV has so many other great concepts. The oldest JAV I've really watched is NSFS or FAX, and some of the scenes have a lot of tension between the actors, basically eye-fucking each other or seducing, but it feels more real and passionate. The newer content seems a bit more stale in this regard.

I started watch Japanese videos approximately on 2005.
In the beginning they were exactly short video clips (excerpts from JAV movies),
mostly in Flash Video format, some videos were available in .avi or .wmv format.
Sources at these times were Yourfilehost and Pornhost.
Later, from 2009 I found a good source named AdultDailyCare.net.
There were already full JAV movies available, at first 320x240 quality,
mostly in 2 files (both around 400 MB), also in .flv format.
As I remember there were about 160 pages of JAV movies,
15 movies on one page.
Download was simple with free video downloaders.
Two parts of movies could be merged with free video joiners.
Then AdultDailyCare.net was closed by Internet authorities.

Then later some Japanese tubes had started to stream JAV movies
in SD quality, 480p, one movie in one video file.
In late 2015 then started another good source Openload.co,
it was already streaming videos up to 720p quality,
format .mp4, there was a possibility to choose a quality (480p or 720p).
Then Openload.co was closed by Internet authorities.
Every year were some tubes/sources closed and there were
starting new ones.
May be some forum member had used for watching JAV
and downloading a web page Pron.tv



Sadly from about 2015 there were many
JAV movies marked with different, usually yellow color watermarks,
disturbing URL-s and another "owner" marks.

Of course some JAV movies were available at xHamster and PornHub
Xvideos and another general porn tubes too, usually not under their real title.
Then in 2020 there was a year, when suddenly all sources had deleted most
japanese videos (underage and incest thematic), millions videos were deleted.
After this also many torrent sources were closed by authorities.
So from time to time the usual English language sources of JAV were
really minimized.

I started to look then for Japanese native sources.
Then approximately 2023 also japanese sources and portals like
FANZA.com, DMM.com, SokMil.com and others were not
available any more for non-japanese JAV fans.
Then started missav.com - and after a year and half it was closed by
Internet authorities. Now the JAV movies streaming still works
but I am not sure how long. Some torrent sites are available.

After the amendment of the Japanese Law about JAV production
and after the change the age of consent in Japan from 13 years
to 16 years the content of Japanese Adult Video - JAV movies is
changed too. No loli movies any more, very small number of incest
movies. Mostly the contents show nowadays the step-parents or
mother-in-law themes.
No junior high school boys any more in school movies.
Because of that some former fans of "older" JAV thematic
are not so satisfied with newer JAV movies.

Thank you for the information. I didn't know all of that. If I had been into JAV back then I could have saved a lot of content. Now I save everything I like and it's clearly the way forward. Everybody says that once it's on the internet, it's there forever, but this just isn't true. Sure, somebody somewhere has files that have been uploaded, but so many videos have disappeared into obscurity, so we have to save them. Personally I'm not into loli content so this is not a big deal for me, but it's a shame that the law has forced studios to become vanilla. I don't support people being exploited or harmed (obviously) so in many respects this is a good thing, but I suppose themes that were a bit immoral (but totally consensual among actors) have taken a hit here.

In your screenshot I can see the FAX series. I have seen some videos from that recently and they have been excellent. Are there any other series that were so good?

Also, do you know any sources for these older videos? I'm a member of torrent sites but also I have Pikpak. Surely there is some kind of community out there. Even if it means joining Chinese websites and paying (which is what they seem to do).

I feel the plots were better previously. There were real stories that led up to the action. Great stars ( at least in my opinion). Like Yuno Hoshi (still the queen of oral), Ayane Asakura, Jun Kuanagi, Rei Kitajima, etc.
