Y'know, I've actually decided that I'm going to give you a serious answer for this question.
Japanese yen is actually of significantly higher value than many other currencies worldwide. In fact, as of time of posting, its stronger even than the US dollar in terms of actual 1-to-1 value. Of course, such direct comparisons of currency isn't exactly accurate as its like comparing apples to oranges, but let's just go for the superficial comparison here which is what you seem to be asking about.
Your problem here is perception. You directly compared 10,000 yen to 10,000 of your own currency which is Ringgit and than you go "Hah! We win!" This is way off for a simple reason - the Japanese don't use decimals in their currency and thus don't have a dollar and cents system. This is actually a smarter way to manage money. If you are a programmer and have written software that deals with currency before, you'll know what exactly I'm talking about.
Can't keep up? I'm guessing you can't so I'm going to explain it like this:
99 yen + 1 yen = 100 yen.
99 sen (Malaysian cents) + 1 sen = 1 Ringgit.
Your currency resets to 1 past a 100. The yen doesn't. So you should actually convert everything in your currency back to coin value before you compare to Japanese Yen.
A more direct approach would be to look at the value of the smallest currency. This is a 1-yen coin:
Its value (at point of posting) is actually even higher than the American penny. What is the value of the Malaysian 1 cent coin? Nothing, cos it doesn't exist anymore as it has been phased out for being worth so little that that its not minting the coin anymore. Anyway, 1 yen = 3.64 Malaysian cents. You were saying something about the yen being low?
This is 500 yen which is their largest coin.

The largest Malaysian coin is 50 cents. That actually converts to a mere ~13 yen. 500 yen converts to about ~4.5 USD or 18+ Malaysian ringgit. I want you to consider this for a moment. 18 Malaysian ringgit is of such low value to the Japanese that it is just small change to them. Their largest coin can pay for a good meal anywhere in the world. Your largest coin can buy you a small pack of tissues to cry with in your own country. They actually hand those out for free when you walk around in Japan.

But again, you should look at cent values. Your 10,000 Malaysian cents is actually just 100 Malaysian Ringgit. Now what is worth more? 10,000 JPY or 100 MYR?
