There's a huge difference between "earns up to 2,800,000 yen" (going by the GQ article) and actually making that much regularly. I'm not bashing Shimiken. He's probably one of the best paid--if not the best paid actor--but no way is he regularly pulling in 6 figures USD a month if we're just counting his work on AV sets.
I'm not sure if you can consider Yui Hatano to be losing steam if she's still so active and popular. If she wasn't, she wouldn't be in such demand. It's definitely possible that fresher faces may at times outsell her titles, but she's still walking away with a fatter bank account at the end of the month.
He got it hard(no pun intended) He need to keep his figure under a strict diet while other elderly or obese av actor can enjoy all the fastfood they want. From the sound of it maybe he's offering himself to wealthy aunties. He got the perk of trying out the new girls before other av actors.
I wasn't a fan of her until like 2-3 years ago. I think she was just an average av star when she debuted, but gain more recognition because she look like some Taiwanese celebrity. It seems her fame there is higher than Japan.
I mean look at all the video game promotion, micro/web movie, mainstream movie(guest), talkshow, stageshow/nightclub, and a pasmo/suica-like cards used her sold out immediately. I think she'll still be in public spotlight like other av retirees. Anri okita been going to China a lot these days.
Maria Ozawa was once very famous but she has to work to make money now.
So the money you earned from filming porn cant help you to live for the rest your life.
Btw, just thinking my lovely av idol having boyfriends make my heart hurt![]()
I don't think the pay was that good in big studios like s1 back then. There were news she selling herself after retirement and before she landed a job in the Philippines. These days, you'll she her posting pic of her hanging with filipino from tv.
