Transparent or not, the watermarking is encoded on the video, so it cannot be "removed" it can only be masked over, right? Even if there is software to try to rebuild the lost pixels to the watermarking it wouldn't do so 100% effectively to where you wouldn't still see a mark of some kind. Watermarked titles are eternally damaged goods.

Due to logistics the quality you get in JAV as well as the actual titles that do make it 'out' relies heavily on the people doing the heavy lifting in terms of rips etc. At the moment that puts you at the mercy of some low quality, watermarked releases. Comes with the territory as it's a lot more effort with JAV than with western porn. There's a few initiatives out there, including this board (Cashern2, desioner and his group buys) putting out higher quality releases, but it's driven by the community.

Most of the guys makings making rips seem to work in the disc pressing factories in Taiwan and China. One of the studios I know presses in Japan and their piracy is closer to zero. I've recommended others to do the same so industy-killers like desioner and Casshern2 can stop making pocket change (it's easy enough to legally download/buy most AV nowadays so you don't need to 'share' it anymore), but they're too fond of inexpensive options.

You didn’t mention the quality the OP was referring to, so I’m assuming you simply found a reason (possibly by seeing me in the conversation) to soap box a bit? Otherwise…back on topic: @eonmode, the only initiative I’ve ever been involved in was the Avengers Initiative. But, they didn’t like my costume and the only power I had was to watch JAV, so, they dropped me pretty quick. The group buys going on do yield some nice quality stuff.

Casshern: I replied to your thread. BTW, my post was more in line to what pikuseru wrote about one of the big uploaders going MIA for a few months. I didn't mean to post something totally not related to this thread and I apologize if that was how you received it so sorry about that.
