Hello,
I am a new member here an I just wanted to warn everyone about a couple of torrents that I downloaded from fikralari and zhou888. It seems that the members were banned a couple of weeks ago, and I could not find the reason why.

Anyways,
yesterday I downloaded a couple of Uncensored JAV torrents from them, and when I try to play the file, WMP wants to download "media usage rights." Then, all of my installed web browsers open, and a few dozen pop-ups open linking me to random porn and shopping sites in Japanese. It also wants to install a add-on on firefox, and it also wants to download a binary file.

I also tried playing the video with MPC and it cannot render the file. I also passed it trough a few media converters with unsuccessful results. My media converters just gave me an error messages.

Anyways, here are the torrents I downloaded:

Those users' threads should have been deleted.

Seems to have been overlooked.

Thanks.

Those users' threads should have been deleted.

Seems to have been overlooked.

Thanks.

It was probably my fault.

Those users were posting uncensored movies in the censored section. After being warned they seem to have got the message.

But I didn't check the content of the torrents as I rarely use torrent software...

:bow-pray:

careful about all wmv, asf, mov, and so on .....

That's a common malicious trick, that can be played damaging users, using the "hidden tracks" in the wmp, asf and mov formats (and basically in all the audio and video formats that carry DRM informations)

ofcourse, M$ don't say it clearly, but in all these formats was embedded natively some hidden tracks that can interact with the "official" players, and the "official" intent was that if you try to play a file without the needed license, the executable in the hidden track take the control, say you that you cannot play it, open (without ask you the permission, ofcourse, in pure M$ style :p) a web link to M$ sending them what you're doing, and a page for propose you to directly buy the related license ..... and, ofcourse, for propose you to buy the license related to that file, it MUST send them what is the file you're trying to play :p

ofcourse, malicious program creators found those "so-called hidden tracks" in probably few seconds :p , and used them for store malicious links and executables ..... also if the file is "secured" and malicious executable cannot be integrated, is easy enough for those peoples to just change the embedded links, building a page filled of virus or trojan droppers launched from php and js scripts, usually hidden as ads popups (for open a popup in your browser, need to launch some kind of application and commands, so ..... :p), then pointing the embedded link in the video/audio file to their sites ..... with the consequences that you can easily imagine :p

if i can suggest you a thing, i use always only VLC for open those file formats, cause is imho the only player that NOT execute those tracks ..... when i try to play a wmv or asf that is encrypted and contains executable with VLC, it just give back or an error, or a corrupted video stream, but overall, DON'T LAUNCH any of the hidden contents ..... so, if this happen, i know that this file contains no useful data, but only encrypted and maybe dangerous content, and i delete it faster than light :D

wow, interesting, Thank you
Two questions:

1. is this issue present in ISO video files as well?

2. And is there a way of opining a video file and knowing if this content exists?

I usually only use the VLC player to play these formats, but it would be nice to expose these tracks in the event that I, or anyone was to accidentally open the video in something like Windows Media Player.

heh, i'm not SO expert :)

iso files can contains a lot of info, but i never found, at least til now, a DRM/executable section (also if, being not a programmer, cannot exclude that is or not possible to integrate it) ..... anyway, as far as i know, any info present in the iso images is for interact with burning programs, saying them how exactly burn the image on the disk (structure, data type, sector lenghts, titles, and so on)

for the second point, i tried some tools, but found nothing too useful ..... except, as i said, the VLC player, that when these contents are there, shows a corrupted video (basically, cause the protected video is encrypted, and the license decrypt it through the play process ..... and VLC don't support it, so don't decrypt the stream) ..... anyway, as far as i know, there is no way for open an encrypted video without the license data, so i don't think that there's any tool that can extract the video without the decryption key, or, at least, not without try to hack the stream ..... on the other side, in ALL of the formats that carry DRM info there are those hidden tracks, but know what exactly there is inside, is over my knowledge, sorry

there are some tools around, like MediaInfo (on sourceforge.net), that can show a lot of informations about different video formats. but i don't know if can show ALL, really ..... and i know there are also some so-called "drm removers" around in the net (cannot post links, due to laws, but easily found with google :)) ..... but about those ones, i really don't know if / how they work ..... cause i hate anything related with drm, and i simply delete anything contains or is protected with drm, so never needed to try them :p

BANNED MEMBERS MAKING NEW ACCOUNTS

BTW,

Do the administrators of this website run IP scans to see if new members aren't actually previously banned members? There are a couple of fairly new members who are uploading their torrent download link to the same website as fikralari and zhou888. Though, I have not downloaded these files, I am just keeping an eye out.

Thank you so much for the alert.
Think a topic should be open for reporting thread with virus/malware links.
