Don't you wanna see the movie as well? I thought the story is kinda interesting.

Well...the movie was shown with English subtitles in Kuala Lumpur just this September so if you remain patient a subtitled version will eventually become available..

Aquamarine have you ever subtitled a movie before or are you just being funny? (the most likely scenario here). I mean there is no dobut your linguistic skills are up to the task but I have doubts as to your technical skills in this area, or at least I have never seen any indication of it before. Sorry to be a buzzkill but I understand the honest desire to to have at least subtitles to some of the interesting cinema being produced from Japan.

One can only assume, money is the motive for making motion pictures afterall. Cannot tell if the DVD will have subtitles on it though, that is all up to marketing. This does not mean a fansub is out of the question though. Currently there is a war against subtitle sites in Europe, though this generally just breeds more of them.
