Ah ys. My screenname comes from the common Japanese name, Oumi. The problem is that Oumi is far too common, so I added the -gi onto it. That way, when you google Oumigi (not Oumi), only my blogs will show up, not along with thousands of other sites. =p

Oumigi doesn't mean anything, I guess; hence the minimal google results.

do you have no.35?

It appears that I don't. =(

Oumi-san,

I downloaded all 16 files with no trouble, but I keep getting a "file broken" message before the extraction is complete. I checked the size of the files, to see if segments 1-15 were all complete, and it appears that they are. The final file, which is always smaller of course, is 96,278 kb. (The others are all 98,078 kb.)

The final size of the extracted video is 1,574,924 kb. The problem is that although the video appears to be full size after extraction, without the completed process it plays for a while, then crashes.

Do have any idea what the problem is? My extraction program is highly reliable and I have used it thousands of times.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

That is odd indeed. I want to know which extractor you used. I would recommend trying to extract again with 7z (download). 7z is far superior to winrar, for example.

If none of the links are broken, then the files should, in theory, be sufficient for to extract the full video. I really don't know what the problem is, but I will try looking into it. Sorry for the inconvenience.

To all other users who have completed the 16 downloads, tell us your experience of the video-- whether it work or not. If it did work, tell us what you did or not do.

I also use 7z, and I also had nothing but headaches with Winrar when I stopped using it years ago. I deleted the video and extracted it again, but I still got the same broken file message. But I can't see anything wrong with your post. When someone gets the broken file message, it is usually because he forgot to download all the sections or, in the case of newsgroups, some of the files are so old that their content is beginning to degenerate. Your files LOOK like they should work.

Now that I looked at my log, 10 people have finished downloading all 16 parts, and you are the only one reporting an error. I don't know. Unless more people are having similar difficulties, it is safe to say that the errors are not from my part.

Now that that has been solved, there are ways to extract corrupted files. Unfortunately, you will have to use winrar. Winrar has a "forced extract" command for corrupted files that 7z does not, to my knowledge. I would suggest trying that. After that, try playing the video-- if none of your rar-parts were interrupted when they were downloading, the extracted video SHOULD play fine.

If it still doesn't work, post in details what you did, what happened, what showed up, etc. The more details you provide, the easier it is to help you.

I forgot to mention this. After the forced extract, play the video with VLC, not with another player.

Thanks for the vid

However, I confirm that the file is broken. WinRar gave me a CRC error too. I even redownloaded the last parts. I used a RAR repair tool to extract the file but the resulting video file was still broken. VLC could play the beginning of the video but the end is still corrupted.
