Does anyone know what software I should use to put a .srt (subtitle file) into .avi or .mpeg file? The thing is I want to put it into my Zen player and I need to make the subtitle permanent inside the .avi or .mpeg or whatever.

Any suggestions? Ideas? Anything?

If you need to have the subtitle permanent, you need to re-encode the movie, or use a mkv container. I only know that, don't ask me technical questions.

Is possible to "extract" a subtitle from a AVI file and to add this subtitle in a mkv file ?

I have Night shift nurses ( censored ) with subtitles in english ( AVI format )

and

I have Night shift nurses ( uncensored ) with subtitles in chinese ( mkv format )

any help ?
