Does your grin glow green? Then you’ve either brushed your teeth
with radioactive goo or you’re taking part in Japan’s latest fashion trend.

It’s likely the latter, as LED smiles are generating buzz on the Internet.

Though LED smiles are not yet for sale, they are gaining online popularity
as a hip accessory, and a Japanese clothing store has used them in a
commercial for its winter sale.

The designers are also offering workshops in Japan to instruct people on
how to make their own LED smiles. An LED light contraption is fixed to a
person’s front teeth, which then glows different colours – red, green, blue
when they smile.

The gadget can change colours wirelessly and users have a hand-held
control so they can use it anywhere they go throughout the day.

Of course, it works best at night.

LED smiles were created after its designers, Motoi Ishibashi and Daito
Manabe were inspired by throwies, a kind of lighted graffiti.

Throwies are small LED lights with magnets that can stick to metal surfaces.
The designers wanted to re-create them for people’s mouths.

In a country that also has a hologram pop star and digital girlfriends
anything seems possible.

What could be next? .... LED eyelashes?
Oh wait, those already exist.

LED Eyelashes

They are designed initially to enlarge visually eye shape of Asian women.
These tabs LEDs have built a tilt sensor that varies the intensity of the LED.
According to body position or movements head, the light intensity is increasing or decreasing.
We know, obsession with Asians have big eyes; These LED "Eyelashes", control the lighting
environment and adapt to it to beautify the eye and make it seem larger.

Why? They are perfect for walking down the road at night, just like those flashing lights on bicycles so you don't get run over.

I'm really crossing my fingers for aquamarine to make a post like:

"God damn it, they're probably models payed to do this, nobody in their right minds would ever do or use this, get real!!"

but I'm a little apprehensive considering some of the dumb trends I've heard about...

Now that would be interesting, but I think that has already been done somewhere, I am sure I have seen Christmas glowing boobs, even if it is only a gimmick
