hello
I'm trying to save a flash video, and nothing seems to be working. I've been to Google and all I'm getting are the same recommendations to use the about:cache option, it is not working. Another trick that did not work was to right click on the page and choose view page info, and save embedded objet. I get a broken icon for this streaming video.

I need to save this video before it's removed. I use to have a link that worked for Youtube videos, but I've lost that, and I don't know if that would work for this.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Thank you.

Often the actual link of the flash video is in the source code of the page, but it's not that easy to find, and you may have to "reconstruct" the full path. At least with Dailymotion it works.

Otherwise I suggest you to use the Orbit downloader program, the "Grab++" tool is quite powerful to find streaming videos.

http://www.orbitdownloader.com/download.htm

For example I took this nice video :XD::

http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8610362188397291938

The actual link of the video is:

http://v7.lscache6.googlevideo.com/...ECC2CCE1EDD33F9245B9C8B069B0A06A1F82A&key=ck1

Of course you have to replace all the % html tags with the actual value if you want to make it work.

With Grab++ it's much more easy. See the screenshot attached.

Be aware to always load the streaming videos AFTER you launch Orbit Downloader and the Grab++ tool.

The Firefox addon "Video DownloadHelper" works fine for me.
If you want the ultimate Solution for all streaming videos,
buy/steal a copy of "WM Recorder" - its quite complicated to use,
but it saves almost every Video Stream, no matter how good the Protection is.

Thanks to the both of you, elgringo14, and rule34 for the reference, and support!
I ended up using the Orbit. It was pretty quick, and the video quality looked just as good!
Those other programs look good also, will probably use them for something later..

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it!
