I'm a true noob at torrents. Used Bit Torrent to download 2, but now what do I do?

Can I save them on the computer like a regular video file or does it have to stay in Bit Torrent?

I've read you have to rename some of them, especially the ones with symbols replacing Japanese characters. True?

Files you download with bittorrent are the same as any other file on your computer.
