Ive been a member here for over 3 years now but have kept relatively quiet during that time, posting the odd request here and there and helping out when i can. I havent been on here for a while now and it looks like i missed the recent revamp and the troubles that went before that.

Anyway, i moved to Japan 7 months ago to work and i am loving it here. I have managed to find a number of very good local AV stockists that are pretty much walking distance from my apartment too, which is great.

Here's the problem, there are plenty of Escorts, 'Health Clubs', Soap Lands and so on but im not sure which places accept foreigners and which dont? I want to visit one but im kinda shy at times and im a little shy about entering and asking.
I was hoping someone could let me know if there are any good places in Nagoya that accept foreigners?

Cheers in advance - i should also add that i can speak basic and a little conversational Japanese.

Grow a pair of balls, or let your drop, then walk in the front door.

Easy.

Well thanks for the constructive criticism.

After reading numerous personal accounts on the internet it seems there are a lot more anti foreigner places than there are pro, hence my request for any advice from people who have maybe been able to find info/visit places that accept gaijin.

How do you think those people found out? You won't know until you ask. Do you really think the people working there give two shits about you? What the hell are you afraid of?

hi dude,

I lived in Japan in the past, but that was several years ago and in a different area of the country so I can't give you names of specific places to go to

however, I might have a couple of pointers.

some places I remember, soaplands etc, usually had male ushers at the door, as far as I remember if you try to enter they will just politely stop you if the club doesn't accept foreigners.... however I have to warn you that in some places they will accept foreigners but they won't speak much English and they will have nothing written in English either, like massage menus (services offered, costs duration etc), so if your japanese is pretty basic (I'm conversationally fluent and I can read it and write it a bit) those places might not be ideal.

couple of suggestions

-foreigner-friendly places probably advertise in magazines/websites for gaijin in Japan, so have a look in that area (magazines or yellow pages for expats, billboards for foreigners with ads in English, whatever you can think of)

-Friends told me independent hookers/masseuses leave their business cards in phone booths or near all night vending machines. Have a look, cards with some English would indicate a willingness to work with foreigners

lastly, not so hard to get a girlfriend in Japan, go hang out at bars for expats and chat some up, might be cheaper and more fun

good luck

niteowl: Thanks a lot for the pointers and the advice. i will do more extensive research in to some of my local places. The bar option could end up being the better option.

R35GTR: Thanks, i may have to do that!

What am i affraid of? Its not that i am literally scared but im a little shy and i know that in London where i was BORN there where some very sketchy places that looked fine on the outside but once inside they where notoriously dangerous, robbed, threatened etc... and that was in England! You could probably add parts of Tokyo to that sketchy list too.

So thats why i wanted some pointers or suggestions of 'reputable' places in Nagoya.

And England is known for being dangerous in that way. Japan isn't, unless you hang out in Kabukicho's Chinese massage parlors... otherwise, you're safe here buddy.

Exactly what I was going to say. I'd never compare England to Japan in terms of how safe a country is.
