I am quite happy with the second volume. It exceeded the first one in almost every aspect and it wrapped things up nicely. I am definitely an Otoha and Yukine fan and I hope they decide to make an anime series out of this. There are so many ways they can expand the universe of the movie.

It would have been interesting to see the role of Karas in more ancient times when belief in supernatural beings or demons was stronger. Something akin to Inuyasha is what I'm thinking about. Except without all the teenage angst and a lot more demon slaying.
