That would be nice, here is an example where i get my images overwritten every time i run the scan movies. check out ID-036 on javlibrary. i have 1 of the movies so i like just to be able to say to that movie after i have updated manual that it is locked now and cant be changed
I have an issue with movies not getting scraped correctly even they are on Javlibrary. here is an example. Muso-0029 snippet from javlibrary where they have images, genre and all data. After scanned to javluv you see no data added or images or title, just nothing. Seams to be restriction some where about fetish metadata.
UPDATE. I tried to concatenate the 3 files into 1 and suddenly the scraper got some iages and genres but the file name was still same as the first time. see picture after reduce to 1 file

As far as I know they should be working. Not all sites have equivalent Japanese entries, so there may be some rarer titles that don't get the Japanese titles, but I just checked my latest scraped titles and they seem fine.
I don't know what happened, but after I check the log, there are some warnings like this:
I still got the metadata for the movies, but not the japanese titles. Does this mean I couldn't scrape a few websites? I'm using VPN connection, and from browser I can open those website normally.
Looks like I may need to update the scrapers for some sites. They occasionally need updating when a site changes visible format a bit, etc.
On another subject... I like that I can check the box for "hard subtitled." It would be nice to add a box for "uncensored/reduced mosaic." Even better would be having those titles change background color, say from black to gray or white. Then, when scanning through my titles it would be easy to see which are uncensored.
I've recently been encountering an issue where when I click the Actress tab the program crashes. I tried uninstalling and re-installing but it still crashes when I click that tab. Are there other program files or backup files of meta-data that I need to remove to hopefully get it working again?
When you say it "crashes", does it just disappear or does it first show the unhandled exception in a dialog box? If it's the latter, I might be able to figure out what's going on if I can see your log files.
Otherwise, you could try completely deleting (or renaming) the hidden metadata folder JavLuv uses - there could be something corrupted there. You can find those in C:\users\your+name\AppData\Local\JavLuv
Also, JavLuv is incompatible with some third party anti-virus programs. Try disabling those if nothing else is working.

It seams (20) (Virgin) in the file name is disturbing the system to add the (YEAR) and -Fanart what was set in settings

I love the idea of the program but I have questions.
1. Is there a way to manually scrape meta-data? There a bunch of titles where the auto scrape did not find anything.
2. There are titles which the program cannot find after a scan. So I cannot insert them to the collection.
3. Is there any way to correct the meta-data if it is wrong?
4. Is there any way to add new meta-data like "Uncensored" -> YES, NO, AI, etc...
5. The meta-data download is awfully slow. Is there a timeout for when one scrape source cannot be found?

Yes, but it's admittedly not very intuitive. At some point I'd like to add a dedicated method for that. If metadata isn't found, you can choose an option to add the title anyhow.
The option to add missing titles will fix this. It's off by default. From there, you can manually add a cover and edit data.
Yes, all metadata fields are editable. This includes importing cover images.
The currently recommended method is to add tags to the genres field. If you don't want to do that, you could add those tags to the extra notes field, since all fields are searchable.
Yeah, I suspect there's an error in one of the scrapers that's causing it to fall back to the maximum timeout value. I haven;t prioritized a fix because it still works, but I'll try to investigate and fix eventually.

Is there a known issue that the cover image for a movie entry uses another cover from the same importing batch? Whenever I regenerate, i need to ensure I delete the incorrect cover for it to populate a new (and hopefully correct) one.
Also just out of curiosity, is it possible to add the URL the scraper found to the entry of the movie? I wanted to see where its getting some of the metadata from as I compare most of it to Javlib and notice (sometimes incorrect) differences. Might lead to wanting to edit the list of scrapers used.
Thanks for the reply! I really like the program it is much simpler than stash (which is basically useless for JAV). I will check back to github to see when the issues get resolved.
JavLuv will notify you when there are updates available (if enabled in Settings), so you don't have to do that manually.

It seems that choosing English or Japanese in settings cause different metadata and cover/actress images. English mode seems having way more cover/actress images than Japanese mode. But we can find Japanese title and actress name in English metadata as well.
Could we just unify the metadata to the English mode way now. Then just switch between title (English mode) and originaltitle (Japanese mode). And grab Japanese name in Actress Details. Then we'll have the most of cover/actress images, unify metadata, and English/Japanese titles and actress names. And sorting the actress name just in English order seem not a problem to users as well.

Japanese movie titles can viewed / edited in the movie detail view by clicking the small JP toggle button in the top right
Are you asking for a way in English mode to display Japanese titles and actress names in the browser view? Because that's about the only thing missing. You can currently see Japanese text in both detail views in English mode.
To be honest, I've been considering removing Japanese mode for a while now, as it's never gotten a translation (I originally wanted to localize all program text), and it's difficult to support due to finding enough sites I can scrape in Japanese. Let me know what you guys think about this. I could probably just add options to display Japanese titles or actress names in the browser view if anyone really wants that.
