The new AV law makes it prohibitively risky to film with a large number of male actors, as any one of the "soup men" could tank the film. I haven't seen any new films in this genre since last summer when it passed. I also can't find much recent information on how studios are coping with the law. It comes up for review in under a year - does anyone have information on whether some of the more onerous and irrational provisions might be revised? Or do you think they are just going to live with it?

I think bukkake is finished as a genre, and that's sad. Just have to live with repeat viewings of the oldies like Dream Woman and Digital Channel etc..

Like you, I don't really know anything concrete about the situation, especially from the makers themselves. All I have is the observation as a fan of the fetish that it's come to a screeching halt. To be honest gokkun/bukkake had already taken a hit from the pandemic as well and it seemingly never recovered fully. The evidence is also quite damning in the sense that you can look up the most well known bukkake/gokkun makers on JAVlibrary to see the dwindling quality and volume of codes released. A quick glance at the state of the gokkun thread is very telling as well. It's basically become a slow reminiscing thread for older titles. I'm not very hopeful it will go back even if there's a chance for revision coming up.

Imagine how much hotter Premium Bukkake would be if they used hot Japanese AV stars instead of the skanky women they drag in from shithole countries in South America or wherever.

It's the way those are filmed that's a problem, not the caliber of the women. Tight, zoomed in shots with little variation, no sense of timing, and chaotic, rambunctious behavior by the male talent (like in Western porn generally). Only JAV ever did it right.

Anyway I do hope you guys are wrong and JAV does not continue forever under a law where any male actor can destroy a film after it is produced, with no financial penalty. It would seem that if the industry cannot get that provision softened, the politicians are intent on ending legal pornography in Japan. Often it starts that way: first regulations that are blatantly more onerous than is necessary to mitigate the problem they allegedly address, then abolition. Because whoever supports the former really wants the latter.

I don't think the women or the countries are the ones to blame, shithead.

Guys take it easy we're all friends here. I'm gonna middle of the road this one and agree about the bad production choices and direction....and say that if that production company did somehow manage to land some real Japanese starlets they'll be just that, starlets and not popular or established talent that will most likely resemble the Japanese equivalent of the ones you see now.
