I run my own Squid webcache, and I noticed that hardly anything from this site is being cached, even though there's a huge amount of content that ought to be cachable, DVD covers, screenshots etc. The reason is that most of the URIs are queries (they contain the "?" character), which are not normally cached.

I don't know anything about PHP forum software, but I was wondering if there might be some option to have uploaded images, avatars etc, as static URIs.

If more of the content could be cached by ISP's it should reduce the load on the server.
