Description: After his mother dies giving birth to his sister Ling, Chen Siu-Hsiong (Lawrence Ng) takes over all the domestic duties for Ling and their father. Unable, or unwilling, to look for paid employment when he reaches adulthood, this leads to him growing into a friendless loser, mocked by the local children and looked down on by his family. The film opens with Hsiong in prison, attempting suicide - by swallowing vast quantities of soap powder! When that, and further attempts, fails he decides to make the confession to his crimes his long-suffering captors have been waiting for. But not before pausing to bite off the police chief’s ear, of course.
