Concerns about privacy protection makes some German
They are 'cooking' in the microwave their identity to destroy
It is containing microchip and, thus, avoid potential NSA

German society was outraged when it was revealed that the
National Security Agency US (NSA, for its acronym in English)
had intercepted calls in Germany. Concerns about the security
of private life is such that some Germans have uploaded videos
to YouTube that explain how heat identity cards in the microwave.

Although the creators of video warning of the illegality of the procedure
and not encouraged, are not uncommon card cases that have passed
through the microwave. This August a man aged 29 was arrested at
Frankfurt airport customs on suspicion of manipulating its German
identification card in a microwave, a local agency reports.

According to German police, the detainee explained that
warmed his license to avoid NSA surveillance.

Microchips are implemented in all ID cards German since 2010
and, although the German Government acknowledges that the
measure does not like it, not canceled. Although studies have
shown the improbability that the microchip is used to spy on
individuals many Germans are suspicious.

A 2014 survey shows that nearly 40% of Germans believe the
development of digitization and paper services US intelligence
threatens their right to privacy.

The German national currently detained have to pay a fine or
serve imprisonment for illegally modifying official documents, reports
digital portal 'The Washington Post'. According to German law, the
personal identification documents are state-owned.
