I'm wondering if anyone here knows of any tricks on downloading Vimeo videos without buying a program to do that?
Seems like a popular question across the net, but none of the browser extensions ever seem to work. I'm taking a class and It would be very helpful to load the videos in VLC and be able to take screens and have better control over the video.
Anything open source out there that would work? I use the Complete Youtube Saver for Youtube videos and it works great. I need something along them lines for Vimeo

Jdownloader2 is pretty much always the answer to that question, it support the most source from all the downloaders I know. Just make sure you download the installer from their forum to avoid any adware: https://board.jdownloader.org/showthread.php?t=54725

I tried a random vimeo video and it worked fine so if you're having issue with them, link us an example so we can try on our side too.
