So far all the files I've downloaded from here haven't worked on my Popcorn Hour media player. Weird things like avi with ogg audio. Why do that? What advantage is there from using ogg audio in an avi container? None. Mebe ppl could think about being inclusive, not exclusive?

And the file sizes are weird too. Why a 2Gb DVD rip? There is no need for 2Gb DVD rips, doesn't make any sense whatsoever. If it's quality you're after than make a 1Gb h264 mkv. That's how the rest of the world does it.

If you can't play movies, that's obviously because you don't have the required codecs. Try installing CCCP codec pack. (http://cccp-project.net)

And also, use a better player, like MPC.

^ Popcorn Hour is a set-top media streamer, not software.

Download mkvtoolnix, open up the offending AVI file, then select both audio and video streams and remux into an MKV file. Takes about 1 minute.

And if TPH can't play *.ogg audio, demux and use something like BeSweet to convert to cbr mp3
