Who likes the "avatar: legend of aang" here? Any news on the next episodes of book 3? The last ep I watched was "The Firebending Masters" but that was ages ago. I'm starting to miss the series. :defeat:

and btw, the story is a bit plain for me... I watched about 2-3 episode and drop it...
 
it's not..? i thought it cud b considered as 1..although it's not as heavy as other anime..plain like u said..but d action, i mean d...what..choreography..? haha i don't know..martial art choreography..? it's gud..dun u think?

i mean is zuko gonna find his mum? and what happened to Azula.....sigh plz let there be a sequel
 
hey how did it end? I was working that day, so i missed the last episode. Any place that i can watch? :rofl:
BTW Avatar is not really an anime, but anime influenced western cartoon with characters looking like anime. I think if they dub it Japanese and release it in Japan it might get good ratings, imo. I dont know :happy:

I saw Penny Arcade's comic yesterday morning.
I saw M. Night Shyamalan's film trailer later that afternoon.
I watched 10 minutes of episode 1 on Veoh.

And I just finished Episode 11 on DVD right now. :goodboy:

This is definitely the best kids show I've seen in ages. Every time somebody my age complains about how today's cartoons are complete garbage? Yeah: I'm of the strong opinion that today's kids need to start telling us, "You're right for the most part, but have you ever seen Avatar?" This show is even better than Duck Tales, my friends, and that's saying something.

I'd say it's a Western anime, just like how there's Western hentai. Does it have to be made in Japan for Japan to be called an anime? Naruto is made in Korea and exported to Japan. Avatar is made in Korea and exported in America. So what's the big deal? When you think about it, they're both Korean-made cartoons about teenagers who have mystical powers aligned with the natural elements and star a young boy who is (at the show's beginning) too unskilled for the challenges which he has been destined to confront for a century. Seem pretty darn similar to me! :P

So they are both the same as Pokemon ??? :XD:

In fact, there is countless animation series that are being animated in South Korea, it's just cheaper this way. Gainax does it, Toei does it, Studio Pierrot does it, everybody does it. It's not a argument for comparison.

Naruto is produced by japanese companies, and adapted from a japanese manga.
Avatar is produced by american companies, and is an original story (or coming from books/comics but I don't think so).

That makes a difference to me :chinesenewyearm:

Of course they have some similarities, teenagers animation is teenagers animation.
 
The movie looks really good :)
I don't like the fact that they are casting a white girl as Katara though...
 
I don't think the movies are going to be able to hold a candle to the series. Never minding the actors' ethnicities, the official trailer's website has text on the iPhone page which reads:
Air, Water, Earth, Fire. Four nations tied by destiny when the Fire Nation launches a brutal war against the others. A century has passed with no hope in sight to change the path of this destruction. Caught between combat and courage, Aang (Noah Ringer) discovers he is the lone Avatar with the power to manipulate all four elements.

... come again? Aang ... discovers he's the Avatar ... after 100 years have passed? And what did you say? "Lone Avatar," was it? As in, "in our movie universe, there were once many avatars who coexisted, but now Aang is the last one" !?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?

I can only hope for the theater audiences that this text was written by someone unfamiliar with the series and that what they really meant to write was that Aang is the last Airbender and that he reveals himself to be the Avatar (to Katara and Sokka) after his 100 years-absence.

$50 says though that Shama-llama-ding-dong introduces either Zuko or Ozai has being another Avatar, i.e. a master over the four elements, by the end of Movie #3. And if I'm right? And I'm $50 richer because of it? The movies are going to blow hard.
