meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

I have just tried out meguVIT, previously I have always used the stock MeGUI. Some questions popped up: Firstly, I'm wondering for meguVIT, under the One-Click encoder, whether it's possible to provide our own .d2v files. Usually when creating my own .d2v files I will cut out advertisements and...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

No worries. I just wanted to bring your attention to it so that you don't have to go through the trouble of testing yourself. :grassdance:

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Had you had a chance to look at my speed test yet? I think you can safely switch to NNEDI3 now. Things are looking bright for the TGMC world. A 64-bit version of NNEDI3 was just released, and 64-bit QTGMC is even faster now!

Hey Vitreous. I had time to do some testing. PC Specs AMD Phenom II X4 955 @Stock speed, Undervolted @ 1.28V 4GB Corsair DDR2-800 RAM Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Avisynth Script SetMTMode(5,4) DGDecode_mpeg2source("C:\Work\Test.d2v") SetMTMode(2,4)...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Apologies, my mistake again. I thought I was using the latest version but actually was using the penultimate one. This is what happens when you have two machines doing QTGMC. :/ Anyway, a new version of NNEDI3 has been released, and testing by one of the board members indicate that it is...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Vitreous: I found this nifty little script that can be used to check whether a video is interlaced or progressive, or in what field order. ############################################################## # Allows you to Check the Field Order of your Source. # # Use frame advance in...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

What's your laptop specs? Normally I would suggest DXVA decoding, but I have a hunch your laptop might be too ancient for that. If that's the case, why not try the DIVX H.264 decoder? It's one of the fastest out there. @Vitreous: DSS2, for some reason always output the video upside down for...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

The difference between 60fps and 30fps is like night and day to me. Then again, I grew up playing plenty of FPS, so that might be why I notice these things. Anyway, I have some unusual behavior WRT QTGMC to report. I was in the process of applying QTGMC to some progressive 720p WMV videos...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Again we find ourselves going back to the main problem with video encoding. Balancing file size, speed and quality. It never ends, does it? :D But I do get what you are saying. If I'm (or rather my computer) taking the time to do high-quality deinterlacing, I might as well do it a favour by...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Thanks for the reply. My PC is currently encoding so I don't want to disturb it too much, but once it's done I will try what you have said. Regarding the CRF, I'm squeezing the file size. I understand that most people will think it's too high (or too low), but early on when I was establishing...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Ok, so I have SeparateFields() after the loading the video. I load the script into VirtualDub and step manually. Each field shifts up and down between frames. Does this mean that it's interlaced? Also, I have another request. I'm considering changing my CPU to a AMD Phenom II X6 1055T. If...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

NNEDI3: I think it works better for upscaling than deinterlacing. I would agree that the speed slowdown is not worth the quality increase (if there is one) that one would get using NNEDI3. I would say that however, at this point I'm pretty much a script kiddie. :D Everyone on D9 raves about the...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Regarding Michika Fuji's IV, I should probably let you know that I did a 60fps TGMC'ed, cropped black bars, and upscale to 720x480 16:9 using NNEDI3 rip. I can assure you the quality is nothing short of astonishing, it's virtually indistinguisable from a original 16:9 video. Seeing as I used...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

That's great! I hope this test this out soon. My PC has been rebooting randomly recently. The cause has been very hard to narrow down. As for the MSU plugin, I guess the problem is probably that I didn't test it on "difficult" sources. Just as well, since it doesn't really like being...

Hi Vit, it's me again! Firstly, thanks for your continual work on this great script! I currently using it now. At Preset=Slow, I'm getting 10fps instead of 12 as I did with 2.3. Were the presets changed again? :p

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Vitreous: The author of NNEDI2/3 recently mentioned that the latest version of 3 is closer in speed as compared to NNEDI2. I did a quick hack of your QTGMC to support NNEDI3 and this seems to be so. Probably about 5% slower. Any plans to officially support NNEDI3 in future versions?

My bad, I knew I left out something important! The defaults, that is simply QuickTGMC(). I was wondering if the defaults were changed, but a quick glance at the changelog didn't mention anything major.

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

@Vitreous: Thanks for the reply! My machine is a Phenom II X4 955 overclocked to 3.6Ghz (but very stable) with 4GB of DDR RAM. It's not a 12GB Core i7 monster, but I don't think it can be classified as being low memory :p In any case, I did a quick comparison of a 5000 frame test script...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Did you give the MSU plugin a go? BTW I don't know if its just me... But is anyone finding QTGMC 2.3 slower than previous versions? Previously I would get around 14 FPS easily with QuickTGMC(). Now I'm getting 11...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Thanks for that script Vitreous. I must admit even after having TGMC'ed hundreds of videos I'm still pretty much a script kiddie. The finer points of TGMC remain out of reach for me. I understand that MVTools is important to the operation of TGMC. The reason why I say it produces rubbish...

meguIV: The Official Akiba-Online DVD Encoder (v1.0.1.1)

Looking forward to the new version! And just in time too. I came across a video that seems to have mixed progressive and interlaced frames and it's driving me crazy as to how to fix it. It seems to me like I would need to deinterlace the interlaced parts, and double the FPS of the progressive...

Vitreous: Do you have any information as to the change in file size with change in settings? From my experience, slower settings in TGMC produce smaller file sizes, because of well, according to Didee lower bob shimmer. Before re-stumbling onto this thread, in the past my settings for a...

Suggestion:Close torrent topics after 7 days

I do think that for one thing reseed requests usually go unanswered, so if you are stuck with a dead torrent good luck, although some times if I'm lucky after 3 or 4 months some kind soul will come back to complete the torrent. :) Hope to see what others think of my suggestion. Also just to...

Suggestion:Close torrent topics after 7 days

Recently I have seen alot of old torrent topics on the Idol Forums and U-15 Forums where people either say Thank You, or request for direct downloads or DVD ISOs, thus bumping these old threads to the top. I would suggest that 7 days after the initial post, the topic be closed because: 1. For...
