Using an avisynth script it can be played cropped in MPC, I used to do that, no re-encoding, just plays the cropped single frame video. I saw the MKV thing but haven't got it to work using mkvmerge quite yet. And yes, late response, not sure why Sam never did, he's usually pretty good about...

I play on my PC (non VR just using VLC) with no stuttering. Same on my Galaxy S10 using Gear VR. No stuttering. What are you using? Anyone else having problems with this?
