You're still limited by network speed, around 1 Gbit, which is not a lot these days compare to hdd speeds . I'd vote just keep it locally on your pc.

The latest wifi standard is like 30-40 gbit/second but even at 1 gbit it's not really a restriction which you'll notice in my opinion, you don't need massive network capacity to play a video file. Keeping it locally on your PC wouldn't work for me because I use laptops, zero spinning hard drives in my laptops. Anything which is a large media collection (movies, music, shows, jav) it all goes on a NAS. This is just what works for me.
