I sometimes OCR a single scene and cross-check with pytranscriber. I think the hardcoded chinese is sloppy, whereas pytranscriber makes sense but it barely translates anything. I haven't found a way to help it yet (I tried adjusting levels and compression). Any advice? I end up with 100%...

It's a whole package thing. The old stuff on camcorders even 1080 is overkill. It's sharper, but not in a way that looks good. Nowadays some of the production is nice enough to justify 4k but maybe only a handful of studios.

Check the pack posted in the main sub thread. Also subtitlecat. Otherwise torrent stuff with a -C is hardsubbed but you'd have to OCR it yourself.

Yes even from 2 years ago the seed situation is not good. Keep spreading the word and it will help. Best available quality and often subs too. Can just ignore all the other releases for common series (S1, Ideapocket, Madonna)

Yandex does a great job with screencaps (win-shift-S). The main issue is that OCR will miss characters. Handwriting input teaches you the pinyin pretty quickly but it can be frustrating early on. After finishing a few scenes you can type about half of the subs which saves a lot of time.

If you're willing to OCR there's a ton of stuff tagged 中文 on sukebei. But not sure if it's different from the forum you linked.

You can use open source software such as Subtitle Edit if you're capable of doing it manually. The other software people use is mostly to help with translation or save a bit of time.

All he's saying is that it's not censored. If you say it's not really uncensored then people get confused and think it's one of those fake de-mosaic videos.
