OK, I really hope this post doesn't make it look like I'm picking on
r00g - that's not my intention at all. In fact, when I was looking through some of the other links that were posted, I found some interesting stuff that I would never have noticed otherwise:
The first thing is an easier way to look up actresses on DMM's site. I don't know why it didn't occur to me before, but all you have to do is put in the name (in Japanese) and add "dmm", then hit [enter] and
voila! You just have to make sure you choose a result that starts "www.dmm.co.jp/digital/..." and NOT "www.dmm.co.jp/mono/..."
The second thing is that due to a lack of competence and/or oversight by the translator(s) and/or programmer(s) at AVE, you might not be finding all the results for a given performer. They don't follow a consistent pattern when transliterating names and (presumably) don't use 'unique ID's' for performers in their database.
For example, if you type in 'Azumi Harusaki', you'll get 3 results: SKY-144, RHJ-129 and RED-116. Then if you type in 'Harusaki Azumi' you get SKYHD-36. While this just appears to be the blu-ray version of SKY-144, it's helpful to know that it exists (especially if you're looking for HD content).
THEN, if you type in 春咲あずみ, you get all 4 of the above videos, plus FOUR MORE! Granted, three of those new results appear to be compilation videos, but the fourth seems like a unique hit. And, again, maybe compilations are exactly what you're looking for...
VERY frustrating - but then, that's why I tend to use Japanese whenever possible. Since the
rōmaji (English) in almost always a translation, using the source text tends to give better results. This is also a perfect opportunity to give myself a shameless plug by pointing out that this is exactly why I started
