Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, the imaginative adventure novel written by Lewis Carrol, seems like it would translate very well into video game format... But for some reason there hasn't been a huge number of games based on it, and the games that did come out received very little attention (or less attention than deserved). I have gathered up a collection of every game based on Alice in Wonderland, ranging from point-and-click puzzle adventures to action platformers. Some are very obscure and underrated.
There are 10 games in total (left out the ones that could barely be considered games and aren't even worth noting). All of these can be played on the PC except for the iPhone game. If any of the links go down, just PM me and I'll likely get it back up within the day.

Windham Classics’ Alice in Wonderland
System: Commodore 64
Release Date: 1985
Genre: Adventure
This is an utterly magnificent and thoroughly spectacular game from 1985. Windham Classics were truly ahead of their time. "Alice in Wonderland" for the Commodore 64 is an adventure platformer with a focus on puzzle solving. It as challenging for adults as it is for 10 year olds. The puzzles and interaction with characters is creative, and the sense of achievement from finishing it is great.
Hints:
The game follows the book quite closely, so read the book, and then play the game. Watch the song lyrics carefully. Don't expect to solve the game in just a few days unless you are a super-genius.
Time is important because the game must be completed before the Red King wakes. Interestingly, Alice's end of conversations are driven by selecting emotions rather than typing words, and it is possible to anger NPCs and have them stalk off, leaving you to wait until a pre-appointed hour when they will reappear. The time can be discovered by looking at one of the various clocks throughout the game.

Wonderland: Dream the Dream...
System: Commodore Amiga
Release Date: 1990
Genre: Adventure
Wonderland: Dream the Dream is a massive adventure game from Magnetic Scrolls, developed for the Commodore Amiga in 1990. It is a very innovative and imaginative take on Lewis Carrol's "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland". This is one of those games that offers far more than just another classic video game. You will be taken though an atmospheric adventure that'll make you want to go back and read the original book when it's over.
The gameplay is kind of a mix between a text adventure and a point-and-click adventure game. If you can get over the slow and complex Amiga interface, this game is really worth playing through.

Fushigi no Yume no Alice
System: PC-Engine
Release Date: 1990
Genre: 2D Platformer
AKA "Alice in Wonder Dream"
This Japan-only title is a cute 2D platformer based on Alice in Wonderland, developed in 1990 by FACE. It was developed for the PC-Engine/TurboGrafx-16. The gameplay is your average Mario-style platformer where you jump on enemies heads... you can also attack by shouting, which is kinda weird... There's 3 stages per level and a boss at the end of each level. You also gain magic powers as you progress through the game.
Despite how it looks, this game is actually very challenging, and has a bit of a learning curve. You will die many, many times before you beat this. If hard platformers are your thing, be sure to check this game out. Here are some tips to make the game easier.
Hints:

Alice: An Interactive Museum
System: Windows
Release Date: 1994
Genre: Adventure/Puzzle
This is a rare gem you've probably never heard of. Alice: An Interactive Museum is a graphical adventure/puzzle game developed for Windows and Mac in 1994 by Haruhiko Shono. The game takes place in a museum in the world of Alice. There is very little story here, but there is very much a purpose to the game that you uncover as you explore, which is to find all of a deck of 53 cards and thus find your way out of the museum. The game is very much designed to have the feel of a modern-day Alice in Wonderland, which is one of the more unusual aspects to the game. It also offers myriad images signifying this relationship, not the least of which is the white rabbit and Alice herself.
Finding the cards is tricky. They are cleverly hidden, although some are easier to find than others. The hiding of them seems to fall well in line with some of the more abstract aspects of Lewis Carroll's own Alice. There are twelve rooms to explore, divided into four sections, one each for the four suits in a deck of cards. Once found, some of the cards provide the player with clues to unlock the secret of Alice. There are also 3 different endings you can unlock.

It's a decent game, and worth playing if you're an AIW fan or just a fan of older platform games in general.

American McGee's Alice
System: Windows
Release Date: 2000
Genre 3D Action/Platformer
American McGee's Alice is a third-person puzzle/shooter computer game released on October 6, 2000, which takes place in the Alice's Adventures in Wonderland universe. It was developed by Rogue Entertainment and published, distributed and marketed by Electronic Arts, and under the Sold-Out Software label as well. Alice was designed by American McGee, and featured music composed by former Nine Inch Nails drummer Chris Vrenna.
It takes place after Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass. Alice lost her parents when her house burnt down in a fire. She escaped because the inhabitants of Wonderland worned her of what was happening. Due to this tragedy Alice becomes mentally unstable and violent, and she is admitted to an asylum. Ten years after this event, Alice is sucked back into Wonderland which has become twisted and chaotic.
This game is a beloved classic. While it seems like a generic 3D platformer, what makes this game stand out is its brilliant artwork, interesting level design, and overall creepy atmosphere. If you read the story book that comes with the game (included in this download), along with the game, it gets a whole lot creepier...

Alice in Wonderland (Wii)
System: Wii
Release Date: 2010
Genre: 3D Platformer
This is the Alice in Wonderland 2010 game based on the movie by Tim Burton. Your role in the game is of protector and chaperone of Alice, switching between characters to solve puzzles or swat away enemies along your journey. Initially accompanied through the vibrant fantasyland by McTwisp, the time-slowing rabbit, and Mallymkun, the sword-fighting dormouse, your animal collective eventually expands to a four-strong party. This party ends up including the optical illusion specialist, the Mad Hatter, and the master of invisibility, the Cheshire Cat.
Whenever the game leaves you to explore the world and solve puzzles, there's a pleasantly engaging vibe to it--aided in no small part by intuitive, self-explanatory controls. Basic movement is assigned to the control stick and character swapping to the C button, which ensure you aren’t overburdened by complicated controls. To activate your all-important abilities, you simply point your reticule at the object you want to manipulate via the Wii Remote, select the appropriate character, hold down the Z button, and perform the required physical action.
This game does have some fun, clever puzzles and some really nice visuals, but it's dulled down by the repetitive button-mashing combat, horrible voice acting, and too many mindless collectathon/fetch quests. I'd say it's worth playing only if you're a fan of the movie.

The White Rabbit can stop time, the Cheshire Cat can make objects appear and disappear, the March Hare can move objects with telekinesis, and the Mad Hatter can transform certain objects. Alice: Madness Returns
System: Windows
Release Date: 2011
Genre: Action/Platformer
Madness Returns takes place eleven years after the events of its predecessor (American McGee's Alice), the same amount of time between the two games' releases. Alice was released from Rutledge's Insane Asylum at the end of the original game, and now lives in Victorian London under the care of a psychiatrist, where the traumatic memories of her parents' deaths in a fire continue to haunt her. Although she seemed stable for a decade, she now begins to experience previously repressed memories that indicate that the fire which claimed her parents' lives (which in the original game was seen to have been caused by a cat knocking over an oil lamp near the fireplace) may not have been as accidental as she remembered; these memories will take the form of retcons to the existing backstory...
Not much has changed since the first installment. It's still a very basic 3D platformer, but with even more interesting visuals than before. The atmosphere and graphics are what make this game. Enemies are still unique and varied, with a nice mix of shooting, magic, and melee combat. Overall, it's more of the same weirdness of the first McGee's Alice game.
